The fourth edition of Muralto Wines by the Lake, which took place on Saturday 18 April 2026, marked a new point of reference for the event, which in recent years has carved out an increasingly recognisable space for itself in the calendar of spring events in Ticino.
For an entire day, Muralto's lakeside promenade was transformed into a vibrant itinerary of tastings, meetings with producers, and musical performances, attracting over 1.600 residents, visitors, and tourists on Lake Maggiore.
An edition supported by the weather and participation
The sunny day played a decisive role in the event's success, enhancing the lakeside setting and encouraging a steady flow of visitors to the winery stands. The atmosphere, described by the organizers as particularly convivial, reinforced the idea of an event increasingly rooted in the local area.
Attendance has more than doubled compared to previous editions, a figure that the organizers interpret as confirmation of a constant growth in interest in Ticino wine and its most recent variations.
34 wineries featured in the tasting tour
At the heart of the event, as originally intended, were the 34 Ticino wineries present, offering the public a wide and varied selection of wines. The tasting included fresh whites, rosés, and light reds, with a special focus on the wines best suited to the spring season.

Music and entertainment on the lakeside
In addition to the wine component, the 2026 edition also featured live music. The event hosted a touring ensemble from Musica Cittadina di Locarno and the Last Station Big Band, featuring singer Celeste Castelnuovo and Locarno trombonist Danilo Moccia.
The musical program paid homage to George Gershwin, creating a continuous background music throughout the day and integrating with the flow of the tastings.

The event's outcome was met with satisfaction by the organizers. Adrian Sury, president of the Muralto Lago Association, emphasized that the public response confirms the direction taken: creating an accessible yet high-quality event, capable of engaging residents and visitors.
Muralto's mayor, Stefano Gilardi, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the lakeside's role as a meeting and social space, emphasizing the collaboration between local associations and municipal institutions.
From the wine sector side, Ivan Trezzini, director of TicinoWine, emphasized the value of the event as an opportunity for direct contact between producers and the public, highlighting the ability of Ticino wine to generate relationships and interest around the region.
The point of view of producers and the public
Among the stands, several producers highlighted the importance of events like "Muralto Vini al Lago" to showcase their work and establish a direct dialogue with consumers.
The audience also responded positively, with many attending for the first time. Among the comments received, the most notable appreciation was the opportunity to taste a wide selection of wines in a unique setting and against a particularly beautiful backdrop.
A well-established event
With the result of this fourth edition, Muralto Wines by the Lake It confirms its position as one of the most popular spring events in the Ticino region, strengthening its role as an informal yet structured platform for the promotion of local wine.
The event thus concludes an edition characterized by growing numbers, strong participation, and an increasingly defined balance between wine culture, music, and the enhancement of the lakeside.
