Determination has led this company – Genisia – to become one of the most qualified companies for vinifying the prestigious grapes of the famous Pinot Noir vine in just a few years.
La Genisia is a young social reality that today involves twenty winemakers full of experience, for a total of 70 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Codevilla (Pavia) and the surrounding areas. The hills of Lombardy are the backdrop to this project, united by a very specific philosophy aimed at creating a constant dialogue between the winery and winemakers to achieve excellent quality standards.
La stylistic figure of La Genisia is the teamwork aimed at uniting history, tradition and technique in a viticulture characterized by attention to the environment, precise scientific methods and authentic dedication to the creation of wines capable of involving the consumer. The 70 hectares are subjected to continuous analysis and research of the terroir. A growing path that passes through a full awareness of the territory and the work of interpreting the terroir. In the variety of its landscapes, an expressive range rich in nuances is discovered, an extraordinary heritage expressed in wines that bring with them a balance destined over time to reach perfect harmony.
The most beautiful sensation that a wine can convey is to tell the story of the territory from which it comes, for this reason through the oenologist Simone Fiori, La Genisia works to give an authentic interpretation of Lombard wines, leaving those who uncork the bottle the opportunity to savor the taste and the art of thinking of wine as an authentic expression of a grape variety and its origin. From this philosophy were born wines such as the Metodo Classico Brut DOCG La Genisia. Recognizable wines, characterized by a fine and persistent perlage that interprets in a refined way the Pinot Noir grapes, the flagship of the vines grown and processed by the winemakers who collaborate with this reality.
La Genisia, thanks to the know-how made available by the Torrevilla Group, of which the winery is part, has capitalized on the long experience of each individual winemaker through a large scientific project carried out in collaboration with the University of Milan. A zoning project, born with the aim of highlighting the potential of the territory and bringing an authentic interpretation of the terroir of origin into the bottle. The study of zoning has not replaced ancient peasant wisdom, but has provided even more precise scientific elements that guarantee increasingly better quality grapes, which, once entered into the winery, become the wines signed La Genisia.
Today La Genisia is the first social winery in the area to choose the harvest teams and organize a sequence completely managed by the company in a centralized way. A method that has been applied to the Pinot Noir grape variety but that in the coming years will be implemented involving all the varieties.
The management of the vineyards present in the territory with a view to a continuous search for balance with the biodiversity of the area and careful management of plant pruning techniques.
The central point of the Winery is the Tower from which you can enjoy an enchanting 360-degree panorama that includes the hilly area that goes from Torrazza Coste to Retorbido with the scene dominated by the Mondondone hill, and on clear days by the profile of Monte Rosa. The gentle hills create an ideal environment for this vine, giving elegant and refined wines. The aromas of red fruit, the spicy notes and the balanced structure make the Pinot Noir wines by La Genisia the perfect choice for lovers of good taste.
