After 57 years of history, the Eurotel Montreux has changed its name and soul and from March 2024 it will be called MONA, a 4 star superior hotel which promises its guests a “cruise on dry land”.
Opened in 1967, the Eurotel was at the time the largest hotel built in Switzerland since 1920, a symbol of modern tourism on Lake Geneva. Thanks to a major renovation project by Linea Lombardo SA, the building was completely reinvented, retaining its imposing triangular tower but adopting a fresh and sophisticated visual identity created by the Zurich-based agency Creative Supply.
The name MONA is not accidental: it derives from the Latin “monasteriolum” which means “small monastery”,"The oldest known name for Montreux, dating back to the 11th century. A tribute to the region's roots and its holiday spirit.
MONA isn't just a hotel, it's an experience. Its concept is inspired by a permanent cruise ship, where every space, from the Bel Horizon restaurant to the Sundeck with its Jacuzzi and mobile bar, invites you to experience la dolce vita between water and sky. The Lounge Lobby, with its marine colors and striped patterns, evokes the nautical world with a contemporary touch.
All restaurants and bars showcase locally sourced ingredients and offer a wide selection of wines from the Lavaux vineyards. During the winter season, the legendary "Fondue Tube" is the highlight of the Safran terrace, while excellent Mediterranean cuisine can be enjoyed year-round. based on fresh ingredients such as olive oil, vegetables, fish, legumes and cereals, celebrating genuine flavours.
Designed to combine business and pleasure, MONA embraces the "bleisure" philosophy, a neologism that combines business travel with leisure. Its six conference rooms, including the renowned Salle Piccard, offer everything needed for meetings and seminars, but with a twist: between meetings, guests can relax with a game of pétanque on the terrace or enjoy an aperitif on a boat thanks to the new private Mona Marina dock.
A companion to the Montreux Jazz Festival, which opened the same year as the hotel, MONA celebrates music in every detail: iconic quotes, installations, and atmospheres that recall the energy of the festival's golden years.
With its 154 rooms, all overlooking the lake, and over 20 million francs invested over the last ten years, MONA presents itself as an elegant yet accessible retreat, capable of welcoming tourists, business travelers and lifestyle lovers.

Between design, conviviality and panorama, the hotel invites its guests to "set sail while remaining on land".
