In Dalpe, a new phase is taking shape for the Hotel Des Alpes, a historic local structure that is once again at the center of a local development project. CEL Dalpe SA has launched a competition to find a new manager, while renovations to the rooms and common areas are already underway.
The project is part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening the valley's tourist appeal, starting with a local resource: hydroelectric power. A portion of the revenue generated by the Piumogna River power plant will be reinvested in the area, with the aim of supporting hospitality infrastructure and services.
From closure to recovery
For decades, the hotel was a landmark for the community and visitors, thanks to its management by Cherubino Gianella's family for approximately sixty years. Its closure in 2013 left open the prospect of its gradual abandonment.
In that context, CEL Dalpe SA, a company founded in the early 1990s and owned by the Municipality, the Patriciate, businesses, and citizens, stepped in. Between 2013 and 2015, the company acquired the building and undertook its first major renovation, with an investment of over three million francs.
Strategic review and new interventions
After nearly a decade of operation, the owners deemed it necessary to update the project. An independent review analyzed the positioning of the Hotel Des Alpes, highlighting its potential and identifying room for improvement, particularly in aligning the offerings with new tourism trends.
As it turns out, the property boasts significant strengths: its location, its natural setting, and its ability to tap into segments related to hiking, cycling, food and wine, and wellness-focused stays.
Based on these recommendations, Gascòn Group SA was tasked with translating the strategic guidelines into concrete measures. The ongoing work involves renovating the guest rooms and reorganizing the common areas, with particular attention to the restaurant, bar, and interior spaces.
Renovations are also planned for the small wellness area and outdoor spaces, as well as the potential for developing activities related to small events, seminars, and retreats.
An offer linked to the territory
The relaunch of the Hotel Des Alpes is part of a strategy to diversify the local tourism offering. In a context lacking large ski lifts, the destination's potential lies primarily in outdoor activities and local tourism.
Hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing are some of the areas we can build upon to attract visitors year-round, while also enhancing the landscape heritage of the Campolungo – Campo Tencia – Val Piumogna area.
The competition for management
A key element of this new phase is the public competition launched by CEL Dalpe SA for the management assignment. The goal is to identify a person with a structured vision and professional skills capable of enhancing both the hotel and restaurant components.
The requirements listed include the ability to ensure high quality standards, management consistent with the property's positioning, and an adequate digital presence.
The lease is expected to start from 1 June 2026. Applications must be submitted according to the methods indicated in the dedicated page on the official website of the Municipality.
A renovated structure
The Hotel Des Alpes offers ten renovated double rooms and one attic family room. The hotel also features a restaurant seating approximately forty people, a veranda, and an outdoor terrace, as well as a fully equipped professional kitchen.
There is also a small wellness area with sauna, a storage room for bicycles and sports equipment and a 3,5-room apartment for the manager.
Situated in a panoramic position, the hotel offers privileged access to one of the region's most significant natural areas, making it a perfect starting point for outdoor activities and stays focused on direct contact with the Alpine environment.
