Half a century of change, transformation, and new challenges for the hospitality industry. This is the milestone achieved by Hotel 2026, the international event dedicated to the hotel and gastronomy which will return to Bolzano Fair from 19 to 22 October 2026.
For years, the event has been a benchmark for operators, companies, and professionals in the tourism and hospitality sector, offering a forum for discussion on the transformations affecting the sector: from sustainability to digitalization, from the new needs of travelers to changes in facility management models.
The fiftieth anniversary edition will therefore be an opportunity to retrace a journey that began as a commercial showcase and has gradually become a platform for strategic dialogue for the entire hospitality industry.
"Fifty years of Hotel isn't just an anniversary, but a testament to how our event has evolved alongside the industry it represents," explained Daniel Degasperi, Brand Manager of Hotel. "From an exhibition showcase to a strategic platform for the entire hospitality industry, Hotel continues to be the place where trends are intercepted. With this edition, we want to look ahead, knowing that the future of hospitality is being built today, in Bolzano."
Four directions to describe the hospitality of the future
The Hotel 2026 program will be built around four major thematic areas that summarize the sector's main challenges: Value of People, Innovation, Food & Drink and Architecture & Design.
The first area will focus on the role of people in the hotel experience, from staff training to skills development. Innovation will occupy a central role through technologies, digital tools, and new solutions capable of transforming the relationship between hospitality facilities and guests.
The culinary dimension will continue to be a key aspect of the event, with a focus on the evolution of the restaurant industry and new market demands. Finally, architecture and design will play a key role in illustrating how hospitality spaces can be transformed into increasingly functional, sustainable, and guest-focused environments.
Conferences, professional meetings, workshops, and networking opportunities will accompany the four-day event, involving companies, designers, hotel managers, and industry specialists.
Sustainability at the center with the Hotel Sustainability Award
Among the events confirmed for 2026 is the Hotel Sustainability Award , a recognition now in its eighth edition and dedicated to businesses that stand out in the ecological transition paths.
The award aims to recognize companies, hospitality facilities, and exhibitors committed to developing sustainable practices, from reducing environmental impact to improving energy efficiency and developing new organizational models.
Applications will remain open until September 15, 2026. The awards ceremony will take place on October 19 , the opening day of the event.
The initiative confirms the increasingly central role of sustainability in tourism sector strategies, especially in light of new traveler expectations and the ongoing transformations in the European hotel industry.
A new area dedicated to technology startups
Among the new features of the fiftieth anniversary edition will be the New Entry Zone , a space designed to host startups and technological projects destined to impact the evolution of hotel services.
The area will be dedicated to emerging solutions capable of addressing various areas: property management, guest relations, process automation, and new digital tools to improve efficiency and the quality of the experience.
The goal is to foster connections between innovative companies and industry players, creating opportunities for collaboration and the development of new hospitality models.
Hotel Tours to discover new hospitality models
Alongside the events inside the pavilions, the Hotel Tours will also return , itinerant itineraries dedicated to the discovery of some of South Tyrol's hotel facilities considered examples of innovative design and management.
The visits will allow participants to observe firsthand how principles related to design, sustainability, and spatial organization can translate into concrete solutions.
An approach that connects theory and practice, offering professionals an opportunity to delve deeper into the new languages of contemporary hospitality.
Bolzano as a place of exchange for changing tourism
With its fiftieth edition, Hotel 2026 confirms its vocation as a meeting place for a professional community called upon to face an ever-changing market.
The event aims to analyze trends, tools, and strategies that will shape the future of hospitality, bringing together businesses, professionals, and innovators.
