Château de Raymontpierre, the Castle that Redefines Hospitality

The Château de Raymontpierre, after a meticulous renovation lasting over two years and completed in 2024, today presents itself as a perfect fusion between the late-Gothic charm of its walls and a refined and minimalist interior design.

The latest jewel of the prestigious collection The Living Circle, is run by the young Sydney Karolewski and Timon Wolf, very affable people with a simple and familiar approach to guests. It is much more than a luxury hotel: it is an elite private retreat that combines history, avant-garde architecture, and a philosophy of life devoted to absolute respect for nature.

The castle's origins date back to the period between 1595 and 1600, when it was built by Georges Hugué to manage the surrounding forests and dedicate himself to hunting. Subsequently passed to the noble Staal family of Solothurn, the castle experienced centuries of alternating fortunes until its acquisition in 1941 by the Anda and Franz-Bührle families.

To ensure maximum privacy and a truly personalized experience, the property accommodates a maximum of 28 guests in a total of 14 rooms. The main building houses 6 rooms and suites with historic charm, where elements such as the ancient fireplace from the knights' kitchen and the original beams blend with contemporary furnishings. La Grange is an elegant annex with 8 additional rooms, designed for comfort and unobstructed views of the Jura Forest. Four of these rooms are fully accessible.

Cleverly constructed in the basement, reminiscent of the castle's ancient prisons, the property offers a refined spa with sauna and Turkish bath overlooking the woods. And for those who love exercise, e-bikes are available for exploring the surrounding countryside.

In keeping with the concept behind The Living Circle, the kitchen of the Chateau de Raymontpierre celebrates the luxury of simplicity and authenticity. Here, the formula is strictly zero-mile. There is no à la carte menu: the chef cooks whatever nature offers spontaneously that day, interpreting the Jura peasant tradition with flair and modernity.

Every detail has been designed to minimize environmental impact. The materials are locally sourced, and the interior furnishings feature Moonwood, cut from the castle's forests in January 2022. Eco-friendly heating powers the entire complex from a wood chip plant that uses waste wood from the estate, while the limestone used for the restoration comes from a nearby quarry in the Jura.

The castle is a private hideaway designed primarily for exclusive corporate events, creative retreats, seminars, and fairytale weddings in its adjacent private chapel. However, on select dates during the season from April to November, the property also opens its doors to individual travelers seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Staying at Château de Raymontpierre means embracing a new definition of luxury, characterized by tranquility, pristine nature, and authentic Swiss hospitality.
