With the arrival of spring, Alex Lake Zürich turns the spotlight back on its waterfront hospitality offering.

The structure officially inaugurates the terrace season and, at the same time, announces a change at the top: from the beginning of April, operational management will be entrusted to Dario Salvel, a figure with a consolidated experience in the high-end Swiss hotel industry.
A profile built between cooking and management
The new director brings with him a professional background that combines operational expertise with a culinary flair. His career has spanned some of the industry's most iconic establishments, including the Widder Hotel, where he also contributed to the development of the original food and beverage concept for the Alex Lake Zurich, the Grand Hotel National, and the Bellevue Palace.
His training began in the kitchen, with an apprenticeship at the Savoy Hotel Baur en Ville, followed by a diploma from the Lucerne Hotel Management School. This path gradually expanded into managerial roles, without losing sight of the culinary dimension, which is now a central element in high-end hospitality strategies.
The relevance of the nomination is also underlined by the comment of Marco Zanolari, which highlights how Salvel represents a synthesis between managerial rigor and attention to the guest experience, with a vision oriented towards the quality and development of the structure.
The season of the terraces on the lake
April 15th also marks the opening of the lakeside terrace, one of the hotel's signature features. Directly overlooking the waters of Lake Zurich, the terrace serves as a meeting point between landscape and culinary offerings, emphasizing discreet and informal elegance.
Inside the Alex Restaurant, led by the chef Luigi de GregorioThe cuisine leans toward a Mediterranean repertoire, served both indoors and outdoors. The approach emphasizes seasonal ingredients and a menu consistent with the establishment's contemporary identity.
Strategy and positioning in the group
Alex Lake Zurich is part of the group The Living Circle, a family-run Swiss business that integrates hospitality and agricultural production according to the principle of "Luxury fed by nature." The portfolio includes properties such as the Castello del Sole Beach Resort & SPA and the Storchen Zurich, as well as agricultural businesses and a winery, in a model that emphasizes short supply chains and the farm-to-table experience.
In this context, Salvel's appointment is part of a strategy of continuity and strengthening of the hotel's positioning, with the aim of consolidating the hotel's identity as a contemporary lakeside destination, capable of combining hospitality, design, and culinary offerings.
A season that looks forward
With a new management and the reactivation of its outdoor spaces, Alex Lake Zurich opens the spring season with a vision that combines continuity and renewal. The presence of a leadership team already involved in the project and a defined culinary proposal represent the pillars on which the organization intends to build its evolution in the coming months.
In an increasingly competitive landscape for the Swiss hotel industry, the relaunch of terraces and the enhancement of the lakeside experience mark a key step, with the aim of strengthening the hotel's appeal to both local and international clientele.
