The annual general assembly of the illustrious association «Les Grandes Tables Suisses», held this year (11 and 12 May 2025) in the prestigious setting of The Chedi Andermatt, proved to be a major crossroads of culinary excellence. The event welcomed ten new members, expressing the vibrancy and diversity that characterise the Swiss high-end restaurant scene.

The meeting in Uranian land, hosted by chefs Dominik Sato and Fabio Toffolon – who themselves were welcomed into the partnership just a year ago – was a privileged opportunity to celebrate the shared passion for top-level gastronomy and to strengthen the bonds between professionals in the sector. Guy Ravet, the charismatic president of the «Grandes Tables Suisses», expressed great satisfaction with the outcome of the weekend, underlining how the exchange of experiences between different regions and generations contributes significantly to the promotion of Swiss culinary culture.
The association, which has always been committed to promoting Swiss gastronomy at a national and international level, places a strong emphasis on key principles such as sustainability, the promotion of local products and the importance of training for young talents. The members share a strong team spirit and pursue high standards in terms of service, without neglecting the conviviality and art of living that distinguish the best Swiss restaurants.
This year, the «Grandes Tables Suisses» family is enriched by ten new addresses and talented chefs from five cantons. These new members stand out for their constant commitment, the creativity they infuse into their creations and their constant search for the highest quality, representing a true jewel in the crown of the Swiss restaurant scene.
A particularly sensitive issue during the assembly was that of female representation in haute cuisine. Although around 30% of kitchen professionals are women, their presence in gourmet restaurants remains significantly lower. The «Grandes Tables Suisses» have shown that they are aware of this disparity and are actively committed to promoting greater inclusion. In this context, the welcome of chef Noémie Bernard among the new members takes on an even greater significance.
Chef Bernard, who runs the Restaurant zum Sternen in Walchwil (ZG), expressed her honor for this recognition, emphasizing the importance of representing a family business that focuses on quality. The bond between generations proved to be another central element of the meeting. The association welcomed with particular enthusiasm two restaurants where culinary tradition is passed down from father to son, enriched with new nuances and innovations.

This is the case of Restaurant Le Cigalon in Thônex (GE), where the synergy between Jean-Marc Bessire and his son Robin gives life to extraordinary fish dishes. Similarly, Restaurant zum Sternen sees the Bernard family united in offering a memorable culinary experience, with Noémie and her father Giorgio in the kitchen and her mother Anita welcoming guests. President Guy Ravet, who has worked alongside his father Bernard for a long time, highlighted how the transmission of knowledge between generations is a key element in the creation of unique dishes, the result of a combination of experience and creativity.
As a testament to the excellence that distinguishes the members of the «Grandes Tables Suisses», it is impossible not to mention the recent triumph of Peter Knogl, chef of the restaurant Le Cheval Blanc at the Grand Hôtel Les Trois Rois in Basel. His restaurant has in fact won first place in the prestigious annual ranking of «La Liste», which reviews the 1.000 best restaurants in the world. An award that not only celebrates Knogl's talent, but that projects the entire Swiss restaurant scene to the top of global gastronomy.
