For years, it has been the beating heart of a community of lovers of good food, offering not only genuine and refined dishes, but also constituting a place of meeting and conviviality. Its closure, set for next June 30th, represents the prologue to its reopening, expected for mid-October, on the second floor of the historic building in Piazza della Riforma, the centre of the “drawing room of Lugano”, which has housed the Federale since 1855.

This move of location, in premises specially equipped and furnished to host a Gourmet restaurant represents the culmination of a complex project in the catering field that Mario Mantegazza decided to undertake since the opening of Palazzo Mantegazza and which in the course of just over a decade has collected the most flattering recognitions, culminating in the obtaining of the prestigious first Michelin Star in 2021.

Now the promoter's will is to establish in the centre of Lugano, thanks also to the opening expected for mid-September of the Federale 1855 restaurant, which on the ground floor and outdoors on the square will offer modern cuisine between tradition and innovation, a gastronomic hub that can contribute to the valorization, also in terms of catering, hospitality and entertainment, of the most iconic and beloved place not only by the Ticinese but also by the thousands of foreign guests who visit the city of Lugano.

Inside Palazzo Mantegazza in Paradiso, the Bistrot will remain open for lunch from Monday to Friday, offering light yet refined dishes, ideal for a relaxing and well-being break even at the table.

After months of work and creativity, the new META restaurant will therefore present itself with a renewed image and concept. The environment, created under the supervision of Ana Mantegazza, will offer a mix of elegance and hospitality, with a design that reflects the progress and the new frontier of contemporary gastronomic culture without forgetting the value of past history. The menus, proposed by Chef Arturo Fragnito, the result of an authentic passion for cooking and careful research and experimentation in the field, will present dishes capable of combining tradition and modernity in the best possible way, giving guests the pleasure of a high-level gastronomic experience in a context in which everything inspires taste, style and love for what is beautiful and good.
