For 31 years, the St. Moritz Gourmet Festival has been synonymous with culinary excellence, attracting gourmets from around the world to the Upper Engadin. It has transformed the region's gastronomic landscape and helped make the period between late January and early February one of the busiest of the entire winter season. Now, this successful festival is repositioning itself and will take place in the summer from 2026.
Originally conceived to enhance the traditionally quieter month of January in the luxury hotel industry with a high-quality culinary offering, the festival has far exceeded expectations. Today, late January and early February are among the liveliest periods of the St. Moritz winter season.
The festival has also significantly improved the culinary landscape of St. Moritz and the Engadin. While in 1994 only a few restaurants had been awarded stars or points, today the region boasts over 200 Gault Millau points and eight Michelin stars.
Moving the Gourmet Festival to the summer will open up new opportunities for the destination of St. Moritz and the Upper Engadin. With the growing number of summer visitors, this strategy allows for the creation of additional high-quality culinary offerings that foster a connection with the region.
One of the secrets to the festival's success is its constant evolution. The same holds true for the first summer edition in 2026: established formats will be further refined and new creative events introduced. And starting this summer, the St. Moritz Gourmet Festival and Badrutt's Palace invite their guests to a very special culinary event: the Via Serlas Summer Festival, in collaboration with the St. Moritz Gourmet Festival, which took place on August 10, 2025, on Via Serlas, in front of Badrutt's Palace Hotel.
Guests enjoyed culinary specialties presented by the region's most renowned hotels and gastronomic partners, accompanied by live music, animated shows, and a carefully curated children's area.
