In the presence of a large number of journalists and the Swiss Consul in Monaco, Eros Robbiani, the Swiss territory and in particular Ticino was presented – thanks to S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino – with the rich combination of lakes and mountains, sounds and colors that, together with the temperate climate and the atmosphere, have always exerted a great fascination, together with the food and wine and cultural excellences.
The Festival has always had the objective of establishing a real cultural exchange with food and wine as a tool for promoting a destination. And also on this occasion, the Swiss and Ticino food and wine culture was presented with 4 chefs who developed a menu much appreciated by all the guests: Raw Pike-perch, cauliflower, almonds and bergamot by Eugenio Belfiore – Villa Sassa – Lugano; Mixed Pasta, Lake Bouillabaisse by Andrea Pedrina – La Dispensa – Lugano; Deer Fillet, Raspberries, Parsnips and Swiss Black Truffle by Luca Bellanca – META restaurant – Lugano and Chocolate Mousse by Marco Ortolani – La Réserve Zurich – Zurich.
After the initial presentation of the Festival by Dany Stauffacher, CEO & Founder S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino, who wanted to underline the importance of presenting oneself united to promote the territory and the richness of Swiss and Ticino food and wine, between one dish and another, the various partners of the event intervened and found great success with very original presentations. Vivienne Hosennen, District Manager Southern Germany and Sales Manager Germany for Switzerland Tourism entertained the guests with the distinctive sounds of Switzerland and declared that: “Sapori Ticino is a celebration of Switzerland's rich culinary heritage, inviting food lovers – especially from Germany – to experience exquisite flavours, top-level chefs and the breathtaking beauty of Ticino and Switzerland”. Manuela Nicoletti, Marketing Director of Ticino Turismo, instead led the guests on a sensory journey through the colours of Ticino: “We were very pleased to participate in the Sapori Ticino event in Munich. Through the Colors of Ticino, we wanted to convey the beauty of our land that also reflects our tradition, gastronomic excellence and our bond with nature. We are very happy with the response and interest received.”
The evening ended with a presentation by Daniela Gugliotta Bagaian, Marketing Director of Lugano Region: “As part of the promotion of the destination in Germany, one of the most important markets for Lugano Region, we presented some of the food and wine and cultural excellences of the area, as well as some innovations in the hospitality sector. This event is part of a medium-term strategy aimed at strengthening relations with the German media.”
An very successful evening and unexpected, according to most of the guests, which once again demonstrated the richness of our territory. Now starting from September 3rd, 11 of the best German chefs (Daniel Gottschlich, Thomas Bühner, Tony Hohlfeld, Sebastian Zier, Stefan Heilemann & Florian Stolte, Dirk Hoberg, Anton Gschwendtner, Christian Binder, Manuel Ulrich, Yoshizumi Nagaya) will begin to bring their food and wine culture with dinners that will take place, as always, in some of the most beautiful and significant locations in Ticino, including Restaurants and Hotels in the most suggestive corners of the territory, hosted by their Ticino colleagues.
