Under the agreement, the country's best players will spend a total of approximately sixty days a year at the Losone facility to perfect their technical preparation.
A centre of excellence for Swiss golf
The choice of Losone is no coincidence. The championship course and the dedicated facilities for athletic and technical training are among the factors that convinced the federation to locate its center here.
This new role strengthens the club's position as a premier facility in the national sporting landscape. The Ticino course thus becomes the "home of the elite" for Swiss golf, a place where athletes and coaches can continuously work on performance development.
"This collaboration is ideal for our athletes," explained the Swiss Golf sports director, emphasizing how the combination of Losone's infrastructure and nearby sports facilities offers particularly favorable conditions for training.
The strategic role of the Tenero Sports Centre
One of the elements that strengthen the candidacy of the Golf Gerre Losone is its proximity to the National Youth Sports Center of Tenero, also known as CST.
This proximity allows us to integrate technical work on the field with athletic tests and physical preparation programs carried out in the facilities of the federal sports center.
The synergy between the two entities therefore allows for a multidisciplinary approach to athlete training, an increasingly important element in high-level sport.
Furthermore, the Losone center will also host training activities related to the Youth+Sport program, including courses and seminars for coaches and young talents.
Continuity with an already started project
The collaboration between Losone and Tenero has its roots in a previous experience. Between 2014 and 2019, the CST hosted a national training project promoted by Swiss Golf.
The program was based on three main pillars: a sports boarding school at the Tenero center, a school program at the sports high school in Locarno, and training on the Losone field.
Among the athletes who completed the entire course there is also Chiara Tamburlini, now considered the best Swiss golfer. Thanks to the results achieved in recent years, the player entered the prestigious women's professional circuit in 2026. LPGA Tour.

Among these is the program of “Golf Baptism”, designed as an introductory experience to the sport and also used as a team building activity for professional groups and journalistic editorial teams.
