The victory came in the final laps: while Verstappen consolidated his lead over Piastri, Norris defended a third place that was enough to crown him champion.
In Abu Dhabi, Ferrari concluded a transitional season, which saw it field simply updated cars but awaiting the technical change imposed on the teams from 2026.
So it is thanks to the experience of its drivers, Leclerc and Hamilton, that the reds of Maranello have defended the prestige of the brand as well as remedying the discontent that had developed within the team.
In summary, the 2025 World Drivers' Championship was won by McLaren's Lando Norris with 423 points, ahead of Red Bull's Verstappen, who stopped at 421, while Oscar Piastri, also of Red Bull, is third with 410 points.
For 2026, Formula One has announced significant innovations: the introduction of active aerodynamics, with new wings that will facilitate overtaking; the modification of the power units which will be powered 50% by eco-friendly fuels and 50% by electric motors; updated chassis, lighter but equally more resistant in the event of a collision.
Two new teams will enter the track: the German Audi, which has taken over Sauber, and the American Cadillac.
News also for the circuits: the Madrid urban circuit will debut the F1 Spanish Grand Prix, replacing the Imola race, while other locations appear ready to apply to host new events.
