The Winter Universiade will be held from 11 to 21 December in Lucerne. The competition was scheduled for December 2020, but due to the pandemic, the races have been postponed for a year. Now here is that the magical Swiss town is finally hosting hundreds of university students, specialists in various cold sports.
The young people of the canton are particularly rewarded by hockey. Several Ticino specialists of the spot will in fact be part of the formation that will represent Switzerland in hockey at the Universiade.
In the men's team, the coach Manuele Celio has chosen the Ticinese Jari Näser and Riccardo Werder (in the photo), from the youth section of HC Lugano, but also Giona Bionda of the Ticino Rockets.
As for the women's team, coached by Jakob Koelliker, Ticino's Emma Montalbetti dell'Ambrì and Alexandra Lehmann and Andrea Odermatt of HC LADIES LUGANO were called.
