About a hundred people gathered last August 19th on the banks of Lake Ceresio for the traditional summer meeting of the Golden Wings Club (GWC), the main support group at the Hockey Club LuganoThe initiative, now firmly established in the Juventus calendar, has confirmed its dual purpose: strengthening the bond between supporters and the sports club, while also offering a platform for professionals and enthusiasts to meet and exchange ideas.
The context could not have been more suggestive. Lido of Lugano, framed by the silhouettes of Monte Brè and San Salvatore, provided the backdrop for an evening that successfully combined conviviality and sporting passion. Due to the rain, the organizers arranged for the outdoor aperitif to be replaced by an indoor dinner, while still ensuring an elegant and intimate atmosphere.
Presentations and first impressions
The President of the Golden Wings Club, Andrea Gehri, introduced the highlights of the evening, inviting the General Manager of HCL, Janick Steinmann, to introduce the new faces of the season. From the ice to the bench, there was no shortage of names: among the foreigners Carrick, Sgarbossa, Kupari and Perlini, to which the Swiss were added Zanetti, Simion, Bertaggia, Lee and Tanner, without forgetting the technical staff of Scandinavian origin, composed of Mitell, Hedlund and Ore.
In a relaxed atmosphere, filled with jokes, measured responses, and smiles, Steinmann won over the audience, offering a glimpse of the determination with which the club intends to face the new season.
A growing community
The Golden Wings Club currently has approximately 60 members. This small number, however, represents its strength: its small size allows for the creation of authentic relationships, deeper understanding of the team's key players, and, at the same time, the development of professional networks.
Support isn't limited to social events. Throughout the year, club members have access to the refined West Lounge of the Cornèr Arena, a dedicated space that combines comfort and privileged visibility of the meetings.
Waiting for the start of the season
The Golden Wings Club's summer event isn't just a get-together. It's also a chance to get a sneak peek at the atmosphere that will accompany the HCL's official league debut. It's a unique opportunity for those who experience the club not only as fans, but also as part of a community that unites sport, passion, and the professional world.
