With the company Model Year 2026, Maserati evolves one of the flagship versions of its SUV: the Maserati Grecale Folgore boasts a series of innovative technological features to set a new standard in high-performance electrification. The main technical innovation is the innovative all-wheel drive disconnect system. When AWD is not required, the vehicle transfers traction solely to the rear axle, significantly reducing energy consumption and consequently increasing range (up to 580 km), confirming its position as a benchmark for excellence in its segment. The transition between all-wheel and rear-wheel drive occurs in 500 milliseconds by physically disengaging the front axle shafts from the hubs. This solution, unlike other systems on the market that limit the disconnection to the engine or differential, allows for true and complete isolation of the transmission, thus maximizing energy savings.
The entire process is managed by an autonomous control strategy that does not require any intervention from the driver.. Intelligent traction management uses a network of sensors and advanced algorithms capable of processing thousands of parameters per second. These include torque demand, brake temperature, road gradient, current speed and acceleration, the selected driving mode, outside temperature, and the activation of vehicle dynamic control systems, such as ABS, ESC, ASR, and torque vectoring applied during braking.
The automatic battery preconditioning system kicks in when the EV Routing navigation system—the navigation function for electric vehicles that intelligently plans routes and charging stops—sets an ultra-fast charging station as the destination. In this case, the vehicle proactively adjusts the battery temperature, bringing it into the ideal range for high-power charging and significantly reducing charging times.
For everyday comfort, the remote cabin climate control function has been retained, allowing the interior temperature to be stabilized via the Maserati Connect app even when the vehicle is switched off, offering occupants a welcoming environment from the moment they get on board.
EV Routing also adds Dynamic Range Mapping, which visually displays the maximum range achievable based on battery status on a map and constantly updates the information based on driving conditions. This tool provides the driver with an accurate, real-time estimate of remaining range, eliminating any uncertainty when planning journeys.
For the Grecale, the Fuoriserie Program offers thirty-two exterior colors, six of which were introduced with the 2026 Model Year, along with eight dedicated interiors, four different brake calipers – one exclusive to the Grecale BEV – five wheels for the range and one specific for the electric version, as well as three trim levels, one of which is reserved for the BEV model. The color palette currently includes up to 11 body colors, in addition to the numerous customization options offered by the Maserati Fuoriserie Program, which includes nine solid and metallic colors, thirteen three- and four-coat options, and four matte colors.
The Grecale stands out for its attention to detail: opening the doors means entering a world of comfort and elegance, with premium materials enhancing the surfaces, along with the search for unique graphics and colors that extend into an even richer range of combinations. Three new interior configurations have become standard from the Fuoriserie program: Premium Leather Ice, Sport Leather Black/Red, and Sport Leather Black/Yellow, in addition to eight Fuoriserie seat options.
