Ferrari 849 TestarossaThe Ferrari 849 Testarossa sits at the top of the Ferrari range thanks to its performance, the driver engagement it delivers without ever compromising ride comfort or interior refinement, as well as its futuristic design yet profoundly linked to the brand's history.

La The 849 Testarossa is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system (PHEV) The 849 Testarossa's plug-in hybrid powertrain comprises an 830 hp twin-turbo V8 engine combined with three electric motors, a high-voltage battery, and an inverter, delivering a combined output of 220 hp. This system boosts the powertrain's total output to 1050 hp, an all-time record for a Ferrari. The 849 Testarossa's complex plug-in hybrid powertrain architecture has been designed to deliver maximum performance, vehicle dynamics, and usability.

Ferrari 849 TestarossaThe 849 Testarossa's internal combustion engine is the latest version of Ferrari's award-winning twin-turbo V8. It develops 830 hp, an increase of 50 hp over the previous iteration, and a specific power output of 208 hp/l. This result was achieved by maintaining the displacement unchanged and completely overhauling the components, including the all-new turbocharger, cylinder heads, crankcase, manifolds, intake plenums, titanium bolts, distribution system, and fuel rail.

The 849 Testarossa adopts a PHEV architecture derived from the SF90 Stradale, combining a V8 internal combustion engine with three electric motors for a total power output of 220 hp. Two of them are located on the front axle and make up the RAC-e (Regolatore Assetto Curva elettrico) system, which enables the 4WD system and torque vectoring to maximize traction and efficiency when exiting corners. The third electric motor, located on the rear axle, is called the MGU-K (Motor Generator Unit, Kinetic) and is derived directly from Scuderia Ferrari's experience in Formula 1.

Ferrari 849 TestarossaThe 849 Testarossa introduces a new dimension of sound that reflects the essence of the car, with a powerful and pure character. The new V8 turbo's timbre has been optimized to ensure a recognizable acoustic signature in all driving conditions, while preserving the distinctive harmonics of the Ferrari engine.

The sound level has been increased across the entire rev range, with particular attention to the richness and purity of the sound in the low and mid-range ranges. The goal was to enhance the brilliant tones of the noble combustion orders (multiples of order 2) under acceleration. Climbing towards the 8300 rpm limiter, the power of the engine manifests itself explosively, with an immersive experience involving sound, acceleration, and vibration, emphasized by the flat-angle crankshaft.

Ferrari 849 TestarossaFrom a stylistic perspective, the 849 Testarossa also revolutionizes the concept of a mid-rear-engined Ferrari V8 berlinetta: inspiration from the Sports Prototypes of the 70s, combined with taut, Cartesian lines, creates a unique and timeless design. The synergy between form and function has enabled impressive aerodynamic performance: a total downforce of 415 kg at 250 km/h represents an increase of 25 kg over the SF90 Stradale and is complemented by a 15% increase in cooling power for the powertrain and brakes.

The cockpit is even more enveloping and ergonomic than before: the central sail with integrated gate, inspired by the F80, improves the positioning of the components and makes them easier to reach. The new steering wheel with mechanical buttons (including the iconic start button) elevates the driving experience while maintaining the high functionality of the latest-generation Ferrari steering wheels. Finally, a new HMI system makes interaction with the car even simpler and more intuitive.

Ferrari 849 TestarossaTo enhance its dynamic capabilities and improve driver experience when driving on the limit, the 849 Testarossa is equipped (in addition to the latest-generation brake-by-wire system and the innovative FIVE estimation system) with the ABS Evo controller, which improves braking precision and repeatability in all conditions, together with the new braking system. The spring and shock absorber calibration has been completely revised, improving the car's behavior at the limit of grip. Extensive work to reduce the weight of components has allowed the 849 Testarossa to boast the best weight-to-weight ratio ever for a production model, as the enormous increase in performance has not entailed any additional weight compared to the SF90 Stradale.

The 849 Testarossa, for the first time on a Prancing Horse model, also introduced the use of recycled aluminium secondary alloys for the engine castings (cylinder head, crankcase and crankcase subframe), reducing CO₂ emissions per kilogram of aluminium used by up to 80%, equivalent to a reduction of up to 0,4 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent per car.
