The construction of the PalaRaiffeisen is proceeding according to schedule, confirming the steady progress of one of the most significant infrastructure projects for the city of Lugano. To provide the public with a direct view of the progress of the works, the Common has announced an open house scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026.
The initiative will allow residents to access the construction site of the future sports hall, an integral part of the first phase of the Sports and Events Center (PSE), currently underway and scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Following the recent construction of the new stadium, attention is now focused on the PalaRaiffeisen, destined to become one of the hubs of the entire complex.

The PSE project is part of a broader urban strategy aimed at strengthening the city's sports and multifunctional offerings. In addition to infrastructure dedicated to competitive activities, the plan includes the creation of public spaces and green areas, aiming to improve the quality of life in the Cornaredo neighborhood and encourage new forms of social interaction.
In this context, the PalaRaiffeisen is set to play a key role, expanding the possibilities for hosting sporting events and events of international importance. The facility will thus contribute to consolidating Lugano's position as an attractive hub not only for sports, but also for entertainment and culture.
April 18th is therefore an opportunity to closely observe the project's evolution and better understand its prospects. The free tours will take place between 9:30 am and 1:00 pm, with departures every 30 minutes. Registration is required via the MyLugano app, available for iOS and Android devices.
The opening of the construction site to the public is part of a communication strategy focused on transparency and public engagement, increasingly central elements in the management of major urban projects. Pending completion of the work, scheduled for the end of 2026, the PalaRaiffeisen is already one of the most anticipated pieces of the Cornaredo area's transformation.
