The Cherub and the Butterfly
Jaquet DrozJaquet-Droz, one of the very few watchmaking houses to create automatons, unveils a new version of its Loving Butterfly Automaton, an animated objet d'art inspired by the drawing "Le papillon conduit par l'amour" (The Butterfly Conducts by Love), which appeared as early as 1774 on the automaton The Draughtsman by Henri-Louis Jaquet-Droz, reinvented today through the three-dimensional journey of a timeless mineral. Framed by a golden forest, the piece features a dial crafted from petrified wood that was formed between 140 and 180 million years ago: Chinchilla Red, named after a locality in eastern Australia.

Glashütte Original has just unveiled a limited platinum version of the PanoMaticCalendar, called “Blue of Dawn.” The watch notably pairs an annual calendar with a fully skeletonized blue dial that showcases its stunning Caliber 92-11. This 42 mm model includes a moon phase at 2 o'clock and highlights the months through a tinted blue sapphire crystal arch. The “Blue of Dawn” theme connects the model to the brand's watchmakers and their morning alarm.

The new collection Swatch SCUBAQUA, consisting of five new models, continues the legacy of the iconic Swatch SCUBA dive watches. Featuring a colorful, transparent dial, a 44 mm case, and a silk strap, the models are available in black, white, blue, red, and yellow. They are inspired by some of the world's most extraordinary jellyfish, from which they also take their names. The transparent components of the case and bezel are made from bio-based materials, while the opaque components are made from bioceramics.

The main characteristic of this material is its high hardness: it has twice the density of steel, comparable to that of gold, making it perfect for highly technical applications. In addition to being biocompatible and chemically inert, it is extremely resistant to impacts and practically unalterable over time.
