The history of art and goldsmith excellence meet in the new collection of high jewelry by Damiani. It is called Master Art and it is a project that draws inspiration from some of the most famous works ever created, reinterpreting their shapes, colors, symbols and emotions through precious stones and craftsmanship of the highest level.
The collection was presented during a very luxurious event on Lake Como, attended by celebrities such as Korean actress Mun Kayoung, supermodel Mariacarla Boscono, social media star and entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni, and Italian tennis champion Jasmine Paolini, among others.
The collection stems from the idea that the creative process, whether artistic or artisanal, shares a common origin: the ability to transform an intuition into a concrete form. In this dialogue between art and craftsmanship, each jewel becomes a contemporary interpretation of a masterpiece, crafted through technical expertise, aesthetic research, and meticulous attention to detail.
The eight creations that make up Master Art take inspiration from works belonging to different eras, cultures and artistic languages. From Medusa of Caravaggio to Spring by Botticelli, from Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai at Waterlilies from Claude Monet, through Gustav Klimt, Vincent van Gogh, Wassily Kandinsky and the Korean painter Jeong Seon.
Floréa, Botticelli's spring becomes a garden of gems
The Floréa necklace is inspired byAllegory of Spring by Sandro Botticelli, one of the iconic works of the Italian Renaissance. The painting's floral universe is translated into a composition rich in emeralds, multicolored sapphires, rubies, and diamonds.
White gold daisies interact with yellow and rose gold flowers, creating a composition that recalls the botanical richness of the original work. Over a thousand emeralds contribute to a visual effect reminiscent of the spring blossoms depicted by the Florentine master.
The Disturbing Charm of Caravaggio's Medusa
Among the most spectacular creations of the collection stands out Malìa, a necklace inspired by the famous Medusa of Caravaggio.
The sinuous forms of the snakes that characterize the painting become sculptural elements in rose gold embellished with alexandrites, black diamonds, and brown diamonds. At the center of the composition stands a rare Burmese "Pigeon's Blood" ruby weighing over six carats, its chromatic intensity recalling the drama and strong contrasts of light typical of Caravaggio's style.
En-Plein-Air, the reflection of Monet's Water Lilies
The suspended atmosphere of the Waterlilies Claude Monet's En-Plein-Air finds a new interpretation in En-Plein-Air, a necklace that evokes a body of water dotted with floating leaves and flowers.
The central element is a Colombian emerald weighing over ten carats, surrounded by sapphires in shades of blue, green, purple, and yellow. The resulting composition evokes the ever-changing light and reflections that made the French painter's Impressionist work famous.
Impetuous and the strength of the Great Wave
The power of nature is the protagonist of Impetuosa, a creation that draws inspiration from the famous Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai.
The Japanese artwork is reinterpreted through a white gold structure covered with blue and light blue sapphires, Paraiba tourmalines, and diamonds. The stones are arranged in chromatic gradations that evoke the movement of water. At the center is a three-carat trilliant-cut diamond, reminiscent of Mount Fuji visible in the original work.
Ecstasy, a tribute to Klimt's kiss
The Estasi series reinterprets some of the most recognisable elements of The Kiss by Gustav Klimt. Gold, decorative geometry, and mosaic references blend into a complex and refined structure.
Yellow gold tiles embellished with baguette diamonds and onyx inserts alternate with circular elements decorated with rubies. The heart of the piece is an orange-red spinel from Tanzania, which adds further chromatic depth to the ensemble.
Autumn Impressions and the Serenity of Jeong Seon
With Autumn Impressions, Damiani looks to Korean artistic tradition. The inspiration comes from A Leisurely Cat in Autumn by Jeong Seon, a work that celebrates the balance and stillness of nature.
Rose gold leaves, brown diamonds, tsavorites, and Japanese corals create a composition reminiscent of autumnal colors and atmospheres. The final effect is characterized by a formal balance that reflects the serenity of the original painting.
Pentagram, when painting becomes music
Wassily Kandinsky's abstraction is at the heart of Pentagramma, one of the most conceptual interpretations of the collection.
The jewel unfolds as a geometric composition in which fancy-colored diamonds of varying hues take on the role of musical notes. Lines, spaces, and shapes combine according to the principle, dear to the Russian artist, according to which painting and music share the same expressive power.
Radiant and the energy of Van Gogh's Sunflowers
The Radiosa collection closes, inspired by the famous Sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh.
The creation combines a white gold and diamond structure with a removable yellow gold pendant that recalls the flower featured in the painting series. At the center shines a fancy yellow-brown diamond weighing over twenty-one carats, surrounded by yellow and brown diamonds that reproduce the intense, luminous hues used by the Dutch artist.
