But to offer an effective summary of the rare refinement offered by the new-generation electric GLC, a few key points suffice to grasp its significance. The car is slightly longer and boasts a generous wheelbase, nearly three meters, but thanks to its all-wheel steering, it manages to maneuver with even greater agility than more compact models.

Despite the tall body and interior space designed to comfortably accommodate the entire crew, the aerodynamics are meticulously designed and contribute significantly to the vehicle's claimed range of up to 715 km. This is thanks in part to regeneration during deceleration, which can recover up to over 300 kW of electricity, while the rapid charging capability is equally impressive, guaranteeing a 10-80% charge in just over 20 minutes. This is even more crucial, with an increase in range of approximately 300 km in just 10 minutes at a rapid charging station.

Finally, comfort, which “borrows” the sophisticated air suspension of the flagship S-Class to ensure a ride with maximum isolation, in addition to the refined semi-autonomous driving functions and on-board technologies that exploit a liquid-cooled computer assisted by artificial intelligence.

The interior itself features the hallmarks of a limousine, adapted to a slightly more compact space. The remarkable brightness of the interior is provided by the unique panoramic glass roof, which also offers refined details: it is thermally shielded and can be digitally darkened in progressive levels.

The interior is modern and highly functional, complete with top-notch refinements in materials, finishes, and customization options. Its most distinctive feature is a single screen that takes on-board digitalization to another dimension. A single glass surface extends across the dashboard for almost a meter diagonally, incorporating specific screens that present all the on-board information side by side: instruments, infotainment, navigation with augmented reality, and, of course, the large display dedicated exclusively to the front passenger. Hidden from view, the numerous sensors operate silently, ensuring safer and more assisted driving, including ten cameras, five radar sensors, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. And for fully-crewed trips, the trunk holds just as many surprises despite the model's compact length of 4,85 meters, offering a generous 570 liters of storage space, in addition to the additional 128 liters located under the front hood.

The performance offered by the GLC 400 4Matic EQ isn't just designed for maximum range, but rather combines smoothness, reliable traction—all-wheel drive, thanks to two electric motors—and the ever-appreciated ability to sprint and recover in lightning-fast, effortless times: accelerating from a standstill to 100 km/h takes just over 4 seconds. This is enough to combine superior comfort with dynamic qualities that ensure a crisp, rapid, and engaging drive, even sporty when desired. All this is wrapped up in a new style, which features a distinctive front end, with a new grille inspired by the brand's most traditional stylistic elements, set within elegant, flowing, and timeless body lines, as expected of a contemporary Mercedes SUV.
