At Leapmotor, an emerging brand in the panorama of battery and hybrid vehicles, they are wasting no time: after the electric B10 presented last year and given the success of the model but also the uncertainty of many people to opt for an electric vehicle, at the recent Brussels Motor Show the Leapmotor B10 Hybrid EV hybrid version which, as already seen on the Leapmotor C10, features a Range Extender, a 1,5-liter 4-cylinder 68-horsepower engine with a generator function that automatically recharges the battery on longer journeys. It thus allows up to 90 km in electric mode thanks to the 18,8 kWh battery, and then continues with the Range Extender recharging the battery during the journey, offering a combined range of up to 900 km.
Four driving modes, EV+, EV, Fuel, and Power+, allow the driver to adapt performance and efficiency to their needs. It has a maximum power output of 218 horsepower, but it must be said that the B10 Hybrid EV It is powered exclusively by the electric motor, while the gasoline engine operates only as a generator to recharge the battery while driving. Charging is quick, and it can be recharged from 30 to 80% in 30 minutes.
The sprint from standstill to 100 km/h takes 7,5 seconds, and it reaches an electronically limited top speed of 170 km/h. Otherwise, it is identical to the electric Leapmotor B10, measuring 4.53 meters long, 1.88 meters wide, with a wheelbase of 2.73 meters and a height of 1.65 meters, fitting perfectly into the C-SUV segment.
The clean lines, full LED headlights, and aerodynamic profile give it a modern yet understated presence. Inside, the rational layout and meticulous assembly stand out.
The infotainment system with a large 14,6-inch display in the center dominates the dashboard and controls every vehicle function, from infotainment to climate control. It uses the LEAP OS 4.0 Plus operating system and is powered by the Qualcomm 8155 chipset, allowing for unlimited OTA updates. The SUV integrates 17 ADAS systems, a high-strength steel safety cage, and a 360° camera system. Minimal wiring and centralized electronic management demonstrate an advanced engineering approach, aiming to combine simplicity and safety. The materials are soft to the touch, and rear passenger comfort is among the best in its class, thanks to the 2.735 mm wheelbase.
Two trim levels are available, Life and Design, six exterior colors and three interior trim levels. The Life version Includes heat pump, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected navigation, 14,6-inch display, and advanced Level 2 ADAS package with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. The Design trim adds heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable front seats, a power tailgate, and a heated steering wheel.
The B10 is the first model developed on the LEAP 3.5 platform, designed for international markets, and represents the declaration of intent of a brand that wants to democratize efficient mobility, whether electric or hybrid.
