From 22nd to 28th July, the city of Lugano will be transformed into a vibrant open-air stage thanks to the Buskers, an integral part of the LongLake Festival. Over 50 international artists will perform in a series of unique shows, bringing the magic and unpredictability of street art to the streets and squares of the city.

Street art as an experience of coexistence

The Buskers represents a fascinating experiment in coexistence, capable of rediscovering a sensation of simple but out of the ordinary beauty. The true protagonist of this event is the unexpected, which gives spectators the opportunity to grasp something indefinable but extraordinarily beautiful.

Lugano Buskers After Parties

After Parties will be held at Studio FOCE on July 25, 26, and 27 from 05:00 AM to 00:00 AM. Advance tickets are available at biglietteria.ch.

The Midi Time meetings

As part of the LongLake Festival, Midi Time offers intimate meetings from Monday to Friday, from 12:00 to 13:00, in the Punta Foce location. Among the scheduled events:

 

  • Monday 22 July: Presentation of “The Last Magician” by Francesca Diotallevi and “I'm afraid torero” by Pedro Lemebel.
  • Tuesday 13 July: “Story in images” meeting with Federica Dubbini.
  • Wednesday 24 July: Presentation of “Sparse Precipitations” by the Paco Jasa collective.
  • Thursday 25 July: Danzabile Theater with “Everyone's time”.
  • Friday 26 July: Poethreesome with Ariane von Graffenried, Eva Marzi and Matteo Ferretti.

The creative writing course

From July 22nd to 26th, Patrizia Barbuiani and Markus Zohner will host an intensive creative writing course at Villa Ciani. Information and advance tickets are available at zohner.com/events/2024_22_07_scrittura-creativa/.

Evening shows

Among the evening shows, we highlight:

  • Monday 22 July: La Locandiera – A Long Play at the FOCE Theatre.
  • Tuesday 23 July: Toponymy at the Ciani Park Grove.

Proposals for families

The LongLake Festival dedicates ample space to children with the Family Village at Parco Ciani, open every day from 16pm to 00pm. Furthermore, from 21 to 30 July, children will be able to attend numerous Buskers shows.

Urban Art and Street Art Tour

Arte Urbana Lugano (AUL) invites residents to discover street art works through the website arteurbana.ch . Until July 28, Sten Lex will be performing an artistic installation at the Lido di Lugano.

Dancing and other experiences

During the Festival, several Latin American dance events and other unique experiences will be available, including Picnic at Ciani by Sambì. For more details, visit the festival website longlake.ch.

Lakeside markets and closures

From 25 to 28 July, various markets will enliven the lakeside of Lugano, which will be closed to traffic every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 18pm to 00am.

Street Food Area

Parco Ciani will host a food area with various food trucks throughout the Festival, offering a pleasant stop for refreshments.
