After a weekend of extraordinary jazz music with Estival Jazz, the 14th edition of the Lugano LongLake Festival continues to make the city vibrate with a rich musical and cultural program. The historic Blues to Bop event, now in its 34th edition, will be held for the first time in midsummer, from 18 to 21 July, with a series of free concerts that promise to enchant the public. Prominent names include Alex Britti, Fantastic Negrito and DK Harrell, considered the heir to BB King.

A calendar full of events

The Lugano LongLake Festival, scheduled from 11 to 28 July, takes place in some of the most beautiful locations in Lugano, offering over 300 events, mostly free. In addition to blues, the festival will see the participation of Ludovico Einaudi and Alborosie & Shengen Clan, whose concerts have already been sold out.

The event offers more than just music, but also shows, meetings, family activities, urban art installations, markets, and street food, creating a unique experience along Lugano's lakeside. The full program is available at longlake.ch.

Events from 15 to 21 July: musical and cultural immersion

Monday 15 July: Reggae at Parco Ciani

At 18:00 PM, at the Punta Foce area of ​​Ciani Park, an evening entirely dedicated to reggae will take place, with a concert by Lampa Sexta Feira, performed by Brazilian artist Dom Lampa. At 20:00 PM, the public can enjoy the long-awaited concert by Alborosie & Shengen Clan at the Boschetto del Parco Ciani. Tickets are available at biglietteria.ch.

Tuesday 16 July: Ludovico Einaudi in Piazza della Riforma

At 21 pm, Piazza della Riforma will host Ludovico Einaudi who will perform “In A Time Lapse” again, accompanied by a renewed instrumental ensemble. An unmissable event, tickets for which are already sold out.

Wednesday 17 July: Swiss Music at Parco Ciani

An evening dedicated to Swiss music with Van Couver and the Hus-Band who will perform at 20pm and 30pm respectively at the Boschetto del Parco Ciani.

From Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st July: Blues to Bop

For the first time, Blues to Bop is part of the Lugano LongLake Festival. The opening of the festival, on July 18th at 18pm, will be entrusted to Ginger Brew & Sisters and Brothers Gospel Choir at the Boschetto del Parco Ciani. Matojeni will follow at the LAC Agora at 00pm.

  • Karima & Alberto Marsico: July 20th at 21pm at the LAC Agora.
  • Delta Groove Band: July 20th at 22pm at Rivetta Tell.
  • Boney Fields: July 20th at 22pm in Piazza Cioccaro.
  • Fantastic Bold: July 20th at midnight in Piazza della Riforma.

Beyond concerts: art, meetings and shows

Among the cultural events we highlight the monologues by Arianna Porcelli Safonov on 19 July and by Gabriella Greison on 21 July. Furthermore, the festival offers numerous family-friendly activities, such as theater performances, workshops and guided tours.

As part of the festival, Midi Time is born, intimate meetings from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 13:00 in Punta Foce, and Blues to Bop Schools, free music lessons with artists such as Lucy Woodward, Jontavious Willis and DK Harrell, on July 20th at the Darsena of Parco Ciani.

The festival will close on Sunday 21 July at 11am with the Soul Sisters of Gospel at the LAC Hall, an event organized in collaboration with the LAC.
