He was called to talk about the tasting at Conca Bella Federico Bovarini, Alma's AIS Sommelier. Present for the house Madaudo, Rosario and his wife Alda Fantin. Three wines: a sparkling, a white and a red.

Il Classic method Brut 2019 IGT Terre Siciliane it is obtained from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes; 36 months on the lees; sparkling in white, it is brilliant and crystalline with a delicate and continuous perlage. The nose has floral and fruity freshness. The same approach to the nose is repeated on the palate, where we find a smooth, acidic shoulder with a long persistence and a final jodated touch.

A follow Grillo 2022 DOC Sicily, greenish yellow color, hints of citrus, anise, green apple, fresh and fragrant. On the palate it is fruity, with a good structure, with a sapid trail and light minerality. The aromaticity and freshness typical of the cricket give a significant finish.

Third wine Etna Rosso DOC 2022 from 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Nerello Cappuccio grapes. Light ruby red, with hints of red fruit (currant, blackberry, black cherry) and finish of cherries in alcohol. The still fresh mouth has free-range tannins, beautiful acidity and that precious minerality and sapidity that only the Etna volcanic soils are able to give to wines.

The company Cambria was represented by Nino Cambria and Nino Pelleriti who, of course, even before moving on to the wines, presented the area and the company's choice to marry a vine that “historical”, the NOCERA, was in danger of disappearing. Some hypothesize that it is linked to the historic "Mamertinum" wines and to the wines of "Zancle" the oldest colony in the Sicily and one of the oldest of Magna Graecia, wines celebrated by the ancient Latins and the Greeks. Once upon a time the Nocera vine was widespread and in the vineyards in the province of Messina you can still find very ancient strains, trained as saplings with short pruning to have low yields.

It was in 2005 when the company began to lay the foundations for a real revolution. With the Mastronicola estate begins a new and exciting adventure, the Nocera. A decisive step that has led the Cambria company to become the spokesperson for one of the most sought-after and rare wines in the entire international wine scene, precisely, the Nocera.

Three wines presented by Federico Bovarini: Masseria 2019 IGT 70% Nocera and 30% Nerello. Dark red colour, hints of cherries preserved in alcohol, black pepper, chocolate, dried rose and hints of eucalyptus. Sapid finish, warm, round, with good tannic power, persuasive with a very balanced and long finish.

Giulio Cesare Mamertino DOC 2015, 60% Nero d'Avola and 40% Nocera. Intense hints of small fruits with a finish of black pepper and licorice. In the mouth it is vigorous, juicy, fragrant with sweet spiciness and cocoa.

Mastronicola Nocera DOC 2015. The tasting is emotional; intense red with aromatic notes sweetened by cinnamon and spiced anise. Sweetness, softness, balsamic, sweet spices with a pleasantly harmonious and velvety sip. A meditation bottle, to be opened to enjoy a pure moment of relaxation; ideal to accompany it with a tasting of dark chocolate.

Here we find all the ancient and very rare charm of Nocera, Sicilian pride and pride. One of the most sought after wines to live a unique experience savoring all the sweetness of the power that distinguishes it.
