The crisp spring air brings with it a pleasant surprise for lovers of good drinking: Ticino's white, rosé and sparkling wines are preparing to add a touch of freshness and class to consumers' tables. With hints of fruit, floral aromas and a balanced acidity content, these wines are ready to be appreciated during outdoor aperitifs and summer evenings, delighting the most demanding palates.

The authenticity of this promise was recently confirmed during a tasting organized by Ticinowine, in collaboration with the renowned partner Rapelli. This event, which marked the beginning of spring, involved a selection of wine producers from the canton, offering a unique tasting experience to journalists, food and wine operators and professional sommeliers.

The event was not limited to wine tasting, but also offered an unforgettable travel experience. Starting from Lugano railway station, a special train crossed the suggestive Ceneri line to Giornico, where participants were able to continue the tasting accompanied by a delicious cheese fondue from the Caseificio del Gottardo, served at the splendid Leventina Museum.

After a leisurely stroll on the island on the Ticino River, guests returned to the special train for the return journey, during which Ticino sparkling wines shone as perfect companions for a taste of the Easter Colomba. This day demonstrated not only the excellent quality of Ticino wine production, but also facilitated direct meetings between producers and key market players.

Furthermore, the event marked a significant moment for Ticinowine, with the announcement of the newly appointed Maria Grazia Carbone, who will take over from director Andrea Conconi the following autumn. This transition represents further testimony to the enthusiasm and commitment of the Ticino wine community in promoting and enhancing its wines.

In conclusion, the white, rosé and sparkling wines of Ticino are no longer considered a secondary alternative to red wine, but rather a refined complement appreciated by connoisseurs and enthusiasts from all over the world.
