In the context of growing attention towards environmental and social sustainability, companies such as Winelivery and Amorim Cork Italia are emerging as pioneers in integrating eco-friendly practices into their processes and products. Their recent joint initiative, called “Tappi x Tappi”, represents a significant step towards a more conscious circular economy and active support for local communities.
The campaign - launched on the occasion of World Earth Day - aims to actively involve consumers in the recycling of cork stoppers, often overlooked as waste. For four weeks starting April 22, Winelivery customers will have the opportunity to return used corks to riders when delivering their bottles of wine. These corks, instead of being destined for landfill, will have a new destiny thanks to the collaboration between Winelivery and Amorim Cork Italia.
But what is the fate of these corks once collected? This is where Amorim Cork Italia, world leader in the production of cork stoppers, comes into play. Thanks to the partnership with this company, the collected corks are transformed into granina, a versatile raw material that can be used in a wide range of sectors, from green building to design. This process not only reduces waste, but also promotes the responsible use of natural resources, underlining the two companies' commitment to sustainable management of raw materials.
But the initiative doesn't stop here. At the end of the four weeks, all the corks collected will be donated by Winelivery to the non-profit organization A Braccia Aperte, an organization dedicated to supporting families in difficulty. This gesture not only promotes social solidarity, but also demonstrates that environmental sustainability can go hand in hand with a commitment to the well-being of local communities.
The partnership between Winelivery and Amorim Cork Italy it is not only an example of corporate social responsibility, but also an opportunity to educate and involve consumers in adopting more sustainable practices. Through Winelivery's “Tappadanaio” loyalty program, customers are incentivized to actively participate in cork recycling, demonstrating that even everyday actions can have a significant impact on the environment and society.
Amorim Cork Italia, with its headquarters in Conegliano (Treviso), stood out in 2023 as the leader of the Italian market, recording a 2,5% increase in turnover compared to the previous year. Its sensitivity for environmental protection is reflected not only in the quality of its products, but also in social responsibility initiatives, such as the SUBER project, which transforms collected corks into designer furnishings.
In an era where sustainability has become a global priority, the collaboration between Winelivery and Amorim Cork Italia offers an exemplary model for the industry and consumers. Environmental awareness and social solidarity are at the center of this initiative, demonstrating that every gesture, even the smallest, can contribute to a greener and more supportive future.
