Autumn is approaching and with it one of the most anticipated events in the Swiss wine calendar: the Swiss Grape Harvest Days. Now in their fourth year, these days organized by Swiss Wine offer the opportunity to experience the authentic grape harvest first-hand. This year, for the first time, some of the renowned Ticino wineries will also be participating, allowing wine and nature lovers to discover up close the process that transforms grapes into wine.

Two weekends among the vineyards

The dates to mark on your calendar are September 21 and 22, followed by September 28 and 29, 2024. During these two weekends, winemakers will open the doors of their wineries, offering a special welcome among the rows of vines. In a landscape dominated by lush bunches of grapes, participants will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the tradition of the grape harvest.

Learn the art of the Swiss grape harvest

Equipped with shears, visitors will be accompanied between the rows where they will receive precise instructions on how to select the best bunches. They will learn how to cut them carefully and place them in special boxes, ready to be transported to the cellar. Here, the pressing process will mark the first step towards the production of wine, a fundamental moment that transforms the grapes into the famous "nectar of Bacchus".

A day dedicated to nature and tradition

Ticinowine's invitation is clear: take part in a day dedicated not only to wine, but also to the discovery of nature, in a relaxing and convivial atmosphere. Expert winemakers and oenologists will be present to guide participants, revealing the secrets and curiosities of the world of harvesting, a fascinating sector that combines tradition, innovation and love for the territory.
