On October 9th, the Garda DOC Consortium is preparing to bring its wine excellence to Zurich during the event “The Genesis of the Garda Doc.” This meeting is dedicated to the Association Suisse des Sommeliers Professionnels, offering them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of the Consortium and its wines.

Over the years, the Consortium has implemented numerous promotional actions in Switzerland, and the autumn event in Zurich, aimed at sommeliers and managers from the Food and Beverage sector, is a crucial part of a carefully planned promotion strategy.

The president of Garda DOC Consortium, Paolo Fiorini, underlines: “Many Swiss consumers are passionate visitors to our territory and appreciate DOC Garda wines not only for their quality, but also for the wine tourism experience they offer. For this reason, we regularly provide dissemination opportunities, recognizing the importance of accurate knowledge for those who enjoy exploring the appellation, the wineries and our diverse territory, especially during the summer.”

Switzerland plays a crucial role for the Consortium: in addition to being one of the markets that has rewarded Lake Garda as a summer tourist destination, it is also one of the main export recipients of the denomination's wines, second only to the German market.

The event in Zurich will offer participants the opportunity to taste a selection of wines produced in the region. The producers will be present to talk about their company and talk directly with the sommeliers. During the event, a video documentary will be screened that will explore the variety of the Garda DOC soil.

Switzerland is not only a vital market for the Garda DOC denomination, but it is also one of the reference markets for Italian wine, with constant growth in recent years.
