“We want to stimulate active participation by potential visitors”. This was explicitly stated by Angelo Trotta, director of Ticino Turismo, during the presentation of the marketing campaign of the body, aimed at internal Switzerland and the Romandie, which puts the new Ticino mobility in the spotlight, with the aim of continuing to keep up the interest of potential Swiss tourists to destinations in our canton.
Evocative images and videos show how today the South of the Alps is increasingly easy to reach, with a journey of less than two hours from Zurich, for example. Great attention is also paid to the possibilities offered by the new Ceneri gallery, which offers the opportunity to experience and “savor” different contents of the Ticino tourist offer (#ticinomoments) between Sopra and Sottoceneri.
In a context of strong competition between the various Swiss regions due to the persistence of the health crisis, Ticino therefore wants to present itself as a Mediterranean destination a stone's throw from home. “Unfortunately, many restrictions remain and the restaurants are only partially open - comments Angelo Trotta, director of Ticino Turismo -. A major relaunch is not yet possible. For this reason, at this stage, we have planned targeted campaigns on Social Media and digital posters ".
The Ticino Turismo competition
The marketing campaign on the Swiss market will continue until the summer with various activities, including - if the epidemiological situation permits - events starting in June. In particular, great anticipation is aroused by the competition Ceneritrip, with the aim of making the new Ticino mobility known and presenting the destination to potential guests with specific interests. Until June 27th, competitors can apply on the page ticino.ch/ceneritrip. A jury will select 20 winners who will have the opportunity to spend an entire day in Ticino with some of the best known Swiss influencers. After the day of architecture with Philipp Heer, aka @lerichti, there will be meetings with influencers specialized in tradition, lifestyle and hiking.
“In addition to the shots that influencers will publish on their profiles, the aim is above all to collect user-generated content, which is increasingly important in tourism marketing. Part of the events will be told and published on Social Media ". A survey conducted in 2020 on the basis of the Ticino Ticket showed that 93% of tourists arriving in the south of the Alps were willing to return the following year. “It is precisely for this reason that our efforts continue to be focused on the internal market - concludes Angelo Trotta -. We must show as many sides as possible of our canton, so that this intention to return expressed in the survey is realized ”.
