Lugano Region has inaugurated its new Infopoint in the heart of Lugano Centro, in Via Magatti 6, marking an important step towards a more engaging and informative tourist experience in the Lugano region.

This new welcoming and interactive space clearly distinguishes itself from the traditional tourist desk in Piazza della Riforma, offering visitors not only detailed information, but also an immersive experience in the surrounding area.

The Infopoint was designed and created with a keen eye on innovation and collaboration with local institutions. A year of work, from design to renovation, also involved students from the Professional University School of Italian Switzerland (SUPSI), who contributed to the design of the new interior architecture.

Furthermore, students from the Specialized School of Hotels and Tourism (SSSAT) worked on the development of a Pop Up space (temporary corner), a free opportunity for local tourism operators to promote their activities.

What makes this Infopoint unique is its interactive nature. In addition to the specialized advice offered by highly competent staff, visitors can explore the area through three innovative digital installations:

  1. Game for the little ones: An opportunity for young visitors to have fun while learning more about the region.
  2. Interactive map: A map of the area that offers an overview of local activities and attractions, helping visitors to plan their visit optimally.
  3. Suggested activity: A station that suggests a typical day through a playful activity, allowing visitors to completely immerse themselves in the experience of the Lugano area.

Furthermore, the Infopoint offers the possibility of booking guided excursions of the city and the region, as well as the purchase of tourist fishing licenses and local products.

Opening hours of the new Infopoint in Lugano Region

The opening hours are very broad, in order to best accommodate visitors:

  • Monday Friday: 09:00 – 18:00
  • Saturday: 09:00 – 17:00
  • Sundays and holidays: 10: 00 - 12: 00 / 13: 00 - 17: 00

This new Infopoint represents a step forward in the promotion andtourist reception in the Lugano region. With its combination of expert advice and interactive experiences, it aims to inspire current and future visitors to fully explore the beauty and diversity of this wonderful Swiss region.
