The project for the recovery of the Castles of Cannero on Lake Maggiore is in progress, which will transform the lake fortress into a modern interactive museum built by the Borromeo family. The inconveniences caused by the pandemic have made it inevitable a slowdown in the works that are still proceeding: a decisive step forward has been made with the exceptional and spectacular transport of the staircase that will connect the severed tower to the keep and its installation. , weighing 74 quintals, was built in the workshop, like all the other metal structures that will be positioned in the coming weeks, and carried by lake with a special crane on a barge, from Angera to Laveno. From here it reached the Castles of Cannero.
In addition to the installation of the imposing staircase, in recent months the restoration and safety measures have been carried out in preparation for the subsequent phases, such as those on the facades and the conservative interventions on the internal courtyards. Furthermore, the underground utilities (tanks, shafts, etc.) have been completed. The project will take shape more and more with the installation of walkways already approved by the Superintendency.
