The Switzerland of castles recorded a record number of visitors in 2022. The Swiss castles hosted over a quarter more tourists than in the previous year.
in this 28 castles in fact, a total of 1.132.812 visitors were counted by the association.
Marco Castellaneta, President of the Association, looking at the new season: «It is a huge pleasure to observe how Switzerland, land of castles, wins new fans year after year. Our magnificent 28 castles scattered throughout the country are also the ideal starting point for an enchanting journey through time».
All castles are open for the tourist season, exciting stories and experiences await you in the museums. In many places, nature and secret gardens invite you to stroll and stop and observe.
The success of the national "2 for 1" campaign will continue in 2023: anyone who visits one of the 28 castles receives a voucher which can be redeemed for free admission for a companion on their next visit to one of the other Swiss castles.
The eighth National Swiss Castle Day will take place on Sunday 1 October. All castles will offer activities on the theme of the year, “Animals and Mythological Beings”. The Swiss Castles Day is an unmissable event for all lovers of castles and historic buildings!
