Lugano Region Info PointThe Lugano Region Info Point It is much more than just a tourist information office. It is the gateway to the destination and the sole official point of contact for a city that strives to become increasingly open to tourism. The Lugano Region Information Department plays a fundamental role in promoting the area, guiding visitors and residents alike to discover the region's many opportunities.

Lugano Region interprets hospitality in a broad sense: not only as support for tourists, but also as a service for the local community, increasingly interested in learning about events, experiences, and initiatives. This commitment reflects the Lugano Tourist Board's desire to foster a genuine culture of hospitality among its partners, as it considers it a strategic element for the destination's growth and attractiveness.

Lugano Region Info PointThe Info Point is a modern and innovative space where visitors can find information and discover the region through experiential experiences. Three interactive digital installations allow visitors to get to know the region through a game for children, a map of the area and available activities, and a station that uses a fun activity to suggest a typical day. All this is complemented by attentive and comprehensive advice, available independently or with the support of specialized staff.

Alongside visitors, the local public is also steadily growing, one of the primary audiences for which the new Info Point concept was developed. With its "Home of Travellers," Lugano Region aimed to create a welcoming, dynamic, and open space, capable of becoming a meeting point not only for those visiting the destination, but also for those who live there every day.

Lugano Region Info PointIn accordance with the Tourism Law, the Information Department of the Lugano Tourist Board is responsible for welcoming, orienting, and advising visitors, providing assistance before, during, and after their stay in the region.

Each year, the Lugano Info Point provides over 15.000 personalized consultations at its front desk, with suggestions on itineraries, excursions, events, transportation, experiences, and activities. The service is also available at the Caslano and Morcote Info Points, open from April to the end of October, and remotely via phone, chat, and email.

At the Info Point, you can book guided tours of the city and the region, purchase tourist fishing licenses and motorway tolls, as well as Lugano Region products, including the Culture Pass and Dine Around, and those offered by some partners, such as tickets for the Lugano Tourist Train, Detektiv Trail, and Foxtrail.

Partners also enjoy attractive visibility opportunities through themed Pop Ups, temporary corners made available free of charge to regional tourism operators to promote events, seasonal initiatives, products, and experiences directly to visitors and residents who frequent the information point.

Great attention is also paid to promoting local excellence. Thanks to a partnership with the Ticino Agri-food Competence Center, the Info Point offers a selection of local products, contributing to the promotion of crafts, gastronomic specialties, and local products. This initiative supports the regional economy and allows guests to take home an authentic souvenir of their destination.

Lugano Region Info Point: an open door to the regionHospitality, however, doesn't end at the Info Point. From this vision, the "Lugano Region Ti Conosco" project was born, offering free training for accommodation staff. Its goal is to strengthen their skills, deepen their knowledge of the destination, and offer visitors an increasingly qualified experience consistent with the region's high standards of hospitality.

The first cycle of the project concluded after eight meetings, involving 68 participants from 24 accommodation facilities across the Lugano region: Lugano, Capriasca, Ceresio, Malcantone, and Vedeggio. The feedback received by the ETL was particularly positive, and given the enthusiasm and participation, the organization plans to launch new cycles of the initiative in the first quarter of 2027, with the goal of gradually involving an ever-increasing number of facilities and strengthening the collaboration network among tourism operators.

The ETL also continues to invest in strengthening its membership network, a strategic element for building an increasingly competitive and inclusive destination. Becoming a member means actively contributing to the promotion of the local area, participating in the organization's life through annual ordinary meetings, casting a vote on agenda items, and benefiting from dedicated services and initiatives.
