In the historic center of Meride, a small village on the green slopes of Monte San Giorgio, the Locanda San Silvestro is reborn. The construction of 1700 had already been a place of welcome in the mendrisiotto for 80 years and from 17 October it will be operational again with a project that reflects the peace that one breathes while walking through the alleys, its history and the feeling of escape from reality that transmits this beautiful village lost in the green.

Antonio Fossati, owner and promoter of the project, described the Locanda as "a space to do the things we love" and it is precisely the feeling you get, while looking inside, both in the restaurant area and in that of 7 o'clock. bedrooms. In fact, in each room travelers can choose how to indulge in maximum relaxation. Each guest, for example, can decide whether to keep Wi-Fi on or off and whether or not to have a television in their room.

The restaurant, under the guidance of the chef Ambrose Stefanetti, will be constantly looking for creative dishes linked to the region: between vegetable garden and cuisine, nature and seasons. With the reopening of the Locanda San Silvestro, a new jewel has sprung up within our canton from which “many can draw inspiration”, according to Nadia Fontana-Lupi, director of the regional tourism organization. It will be a place where you can find yourself savoring all the essences of our territory.
