The recognition, awarded on the basis of 75.021 overall evaluations and the unquestionable judgment of an independent jury composed of experts and event organizers, represents a double confirmation of the intrinsic value and perceived quality of this corner of paradise in Ticino.
The success comes at a time of great excitement for the historic village, a few months after the start of the new management. Leading the project is Tania Frapolli, a figure already known for her experience in Ritroveria 13 in Giubiasco, who has been able to infuse new life and a renewed vision, while keeping the authentic soul of the place intact. “Curzútt is not a structure, it is a vision,” Frapolli commented enthusiastically. “It is a historic village that is told in every stone, in every path, in every gesture of welcome. This award celebrates the authentic beauty and the daily work of those who guard it with care and passion.”
At 600 metres above sea level, easily reached by cable car from Monte Carasso, Curzútt is a shining example of sensitive heritage recovery. This historic village hosts an architecturally valuable hostel, a true design gem delicately inserted into the context. The beating heart of Curzútt is the splendid Romanesque church of San Barnárd, which with its 11th-century frescoes tells thousands of years of history and spirituality. Around these structures there is a network of educational and naturalistic paths that invite discovery and reflection, while offering countless possibilities for organizing cultural, educational and corporate activities in a unique context, where time seems to magically slow down.
This award is a fundamental step in the valorization process undertaken by the Curzútt – S. Barnárd Foundation.
