Even this year Dany Stauffacher, CEO & Founder S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino, with his passion and determination he has proposed new gastronomic treasures with the Germany protagonist of 12 high-quality evenings together with many other special offers of great interest.
Since the end of September, the creativity and precision of German chefs have met the skills and availability of Ticino chefs for highly successful events. A meeting that has allowed us to introduce the peculiarities of both for a fruitful and interesting exchange. Our region has once again been the stage and protagonist of a food and wine show that began last September 19 in Munich where, in the presence of a large number of journalists and the Swiss Consul in Munich, Eros Robbiani, in collaboration with Switzerland Tourism, Ticino Tourism, Lugano Region and Ascona-Locarno, the Festival and the Swiss and Ticino territory were presented with 4 chefs who developed a menu that was much appreciated by all the guests.
Serving emotion at the table and making Ticino's excellence known beyond its borders. These are the goals that SPST has always set itself. And thanks to the ten-year collaboration with the Swiss Deluxe Hotels, the 42 most beautiful 5-star hotels in Switzerland, every year the dinners are also hosted in the best hotels beyond the Gotthard. So on Wednesday 9 October Marco Badalucci – Ristorante Badalucci, Lugano, Eugenio Belfiore – Villa Sassa Lugano, Alessandro Boleso – Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola, Lugano and Federico Palladino – Osteria Enoteca Cuntitt di Castel San Pietro, 1 Michelin star, were guests of Michele Fortunato, chef of the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva for an evening dedicated to the food and wine flavors of our territory, in the presence of many journalists and guests, including Nathalie Seiler-Hayez, Managing Director of Swiss Deluxe Hotels and Markus Venzin CEO EHL Group, the most important Hospitality School in the world.
And again, in Zurich at the Widder Hotel on November 20, guests of Tino Staub:
- Luca Bellanca – who was chef at the 1 Michelin star Meta Restaurant, Lugano,
- Christian Moreschi – Villa Principe Leopoldo, Lugano,
- Egidio Iadonisi – Swiss Diamond Hotel, Vico Morcote,
- Jacopo Rovetini – Osteria dell'Enoteca, Losone, 1 Michelin star.
Behind every dish, there is always a story to tell. And that is what happened every evening. Even during the special evenings organized with Young Chef Academy by Sanpellegrino, the competition that selects the best young chefs in the world under 30, where 4 young people from the 2022-2023 edition met 4 Swiss colleagues. After the evening in Vevey with the Swiss winner Raul Garcia guest of Guy Ravet at the Grand Hotel du Lac, at La Baia Ristorante & Lounge at the Hotel Lago Maggiore in Locarno-Muralto, Salvatore Sanfilippo hosted Grigoris Kikis, winner of the Mediterranean regional final, the youngest Michelin-starred Greek chef in Athens with Greek recipes between tradition and modern cuisine.
In the beautiful historic center of Morcote, Emanuel Negrusa of the Ristorante della Torre hosted Michele Antonelli from the Marche, the Italian winner who offered guests, welcomed by host Massimo Suter, President of GastroTicino, traditional cuisine, using the best fresh and seasonal products.
The German winner Anton Lebersorger was the guest of Carlo Ponti Greppi at the Hotel Belvedere in Locarno with a classic and regional cuisine with exotic and unusual combinations. All meetings between young talents of the future, attentive to sustainability.
As always, many proposals for all tastes, between tradition and innovation, combining seasonal ingredients with regional ingredients, with international flavours and Asian influences.
And after the opening with the chefs of the Swiss Deluxe Hotels, the grand finale on November 24th at the Hotel Splendide Royal with the Ticino chefs of the Grandes Tables Suisses: the resident chef Marco Veneruso, 1 Michelin star, hosted Luca Bellanca – Ristorante Meta, Lugano, 1 Michelin star, Federico Palladino – Osteria Enoteca Cuntitt, 1 Michelin star in Castel San Pietro and Marco Badalucci – Ristorante Badalucci, Lugano to celebrate together the coming of age of the event.
An eighteenth edition that concluded a year full of events for Sapori Ticino, including the evening during the Paralympic Games in Paris last summer, at the Maison Suisse in the garden of the Swiss Embassy, where a team of Ticino chefs took to the field with great pride to offer guests several interesting food and wine experiences with cooking shows and Ticino flavors.
