The Summer Jamboree on the Lake program was presented at Villa Ciani. A great event that will characterize the Lugano summer thanks to 4 days with free concerts by international artists, dance lessons and an immersive photographic exhibition Rock n 'Roll Is a State of the Soul.
Summer Jamboree is the largest International Festival of American culture of the 40s and 50s in Europe, which for the first time arrives on the shores of Lake Lugano, promoted by Lugano Region, with the patronage of the City.

The Summer Jamboree on the Lake program

The Festival program includes four days of extraordinary, free concerts—on two stages in Piazza della Riforma and Boschetto Ciani (Ciani Park)—where international artists who are writing the history of Rock 'n' Roll in all its musical forms will perform, bringing an overwhelming wave of music, dancing, and tons of fun.

Alongside the live concerts there will be Record hop in various corners of the city with the best DJs from all over the world, in addition to the Burlesque Show and Cabaret. Between Piazza Manzoni and Riva Albertolli the Vintage Market will then take shape with modern antiques and collectible memorabilia, clothing, shoes, accessories, vintage objects and reproductions, but also street food & beverage areas.

An Oldtimers Park of pre-1969 American cars and a Barber Shop will also be set up on the Riva Albertolli. To learn how to take the first steps, free Swing and Rock'n'Roll lessons are provided, and after the Festival to continue dancing all night long.

The Summer Jamboree on the Lake Dance Camp will also be held at the Exhibition Center: a full immersion dedicated to learning dance, with some of the best dancers on the international scene as teachers.

Finally, from June 02 to 19, 2022, the immersive photography exhibition "Rock'n'Roll is a State of the Soul " will be held in the prestigious rooms of Villa Ciani. The exhibition recounts the essence of what, through the eyes of the Summer Jamboree, rock 'n' roll was and is. In particular, thanks to the great photographers who captured memorable shots of the happiness experienced during the first 20 years of what has become, over time, the largest festival of its kind in Europe.
