From tomorrow – Wednesday 17 June – to Sunday 21 June, Caslano returns to being one of the main points of reference for blues enthusiasts in Ticino and Insubria. twelfth edition of Caslano Blues It offers a particularly rich calendar: twenty-five concerts spread over five days, with around twenty bands from various European countries and the United States.
The event, supported by the Lugano Region, Pro Caslano, and the Municipality of Caslano, continues a formula that has contributed to its success over the years. The festival unfolds in several distinct segments, starting in the courtyards of the historic center and then moving to the lakeside, where music and food will accompany the audience throughout the weekend.
Early evenings among the courtyards of the historic center
The festival's opening nights are scheduled for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. On both occasions, the town center will be transformed into a musical trail, with six courtyards hosting concerts from 8:30 PM until midnight:
Among the most anticipated guests is American singer Shari Puorto, who will be performing on both opening nights. Wednesday's program will also feature Joe Colombo, Gianluca De Palo, Riki Massini, and Stefano Barigazzi, along with Bluesick and the duo of Paolo Fabris and Andrea Zinzi.
Thursday will be the turn of Jane Jeresa & Morblues, Riccardo Staraj & Midnight Blues Band, Steve Arvey, Bo Weavil, Leo Ghiringhelli Power Trio and CrossFires Blues Band, offering an overview of styles and interpretations ranging from traditional blues to more modern influences.
The transfer to Piazza Lago
After the two evenings in the village, the festival will move to Piazza Lago for its traditional weekend of live music. This year, two stages will once again be open, with a program that will entertain audiences from late afternoon until late at night.
The stage located in the refreshment area will open the events at 7:15 pm. Steve Arvey will take the stage on Friday, while Mad Groove & The Soul Doctors will be on Saturday. Later in the day, Rycover+Ati and the trio led by Paolo Fabris will perform. The same space will also host the usual Sunday noon jam session, one of the most popular events of the entire festival, featuring Shari Puorto, Jane Jeresa, and the Max Dega Band.
On the main stage, starting at 8:45 pm, Riccardo Staraj with the Midnight Blues Band and Jane Jeresa & Morblues will perform on Friday. Saturday will feature performances by American artists Shari Puorto and Acantha Lang.
Music and navigation on Lake Ceresio
Among the collateral initiatives that enrich the program are the Caslano Blues Cruises, organized by the Lugano Region in collaboration with Allegra Tours.
The musical cruises will take place on the evenings of Thursday, June 18th, and Saturday, June 20th, and will offer participants the chance to reach Caslano from Lugano aboard the Allegra, accompanied by live blues performances.
The experience also includes itineraries between Caslano and Ponte Tresa, designed for those who want to experience the festival from a different perspective and enjoy a moment away from the crowds. The return journey to Lugano will take place in the evening along the waters of Lake Ceresio.
