With the arrival of summer, the lakeside once again fills with people and events. Lugano Marittima reopens on Thursday 21 May at 16pm, ready to confirm itself as one of the most popular meeting places in the city during the summerThe area at the mouth of the Cassarate River is thus preparing to welcome residents and visitors in an informal setting, designed to encourage meetings, extended stays, and moments of outdoor recreation.
The characteristic wooden huts will host, as per tradition, a selection of local food outlets. Until July 5th, you can find Seven Lugano, Fresco, Kohakinho and Mary. From the next shift change, scheduled from July 8th to August 23rd, the following will take over: Vanini Dolce&Café, Bar Sempione, Il Fermento, and AnacapriA formula that focuses on rotating the offerings, ensuring variety throughout the season and a continuous renewal of the culinary offerings.
Alongside the main partners, the presence of neighbouring businesses is confirmed Portobello! and Osteria del Porto, which help consolidate the area's identity as a key summer destination for the city. The combination of activities creates a path that extends along the waterfront, enhancing its location and proximity to the city center.
The program is not limited to catering. Weekends also include DJ sets and live concerts, with the aim of creating a dynamic atmosphere without altering the venue's vocation, which remains a space for socializing and relaxing. Music thus becomes an integral part of the evening experience, accompanying the busiest hours of the day.
Among the collateral proposals there is also the ReteTre Beach Bar, open from June 22nd to July 31st from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. During this time, the space will host the Club dei Cialtroni with Herbert Cioffi, Griso, and Marco Di Gioia. The initiative, with live broadcasts, musical performances, and guests, adds another element of entertainment to the summer calendar, appealing to a diverse audience.
Lugano Marittima is organized by the Events and Congresses Division of the City of Lugano, in collaboration with media partner RSI Rete Tre. The project is part of the lakefront entertainment strategy, focusing on a combination of food, music, and open use of public spaces. Its location at the mouth of the Cassarate River, a short distance from the city center, facilitates access and helps integrate the initiative into the urban fabric.
With its reopening, the area is preparing to return as one of the main hubs of the warmer months, striking a balance between retail, cultural programming, and shared use of the spaces. This annual event is a regular fixture on the summer calendar and symbolically marks the start of outdoor evenings along the lakefront.
