Driving around in our country which has 6,5 million vehicles, excluding mopeds, is stressful.
I think there is no other place in the world with as many road signs as ours. Furthermore, the speed limit changes so many times that we have to concentrate more on the signs than on the car in front of us.
Really. modern devices that display the speed limit on the odometer are often in error, probably because they too are electronically stressed.
Furthermore, calling them speed limits is now improper; I would rather call them slowness limits given that the 30 km/h zones proliferate more and more and that on the motorways anyone who manages, without traffic, an average speed above 90 km/h should be considered a potential F1 driver.
With today's cars it becomes increasingly difficult to respect these rules and to do so, I insist, driving becomes increasingly stressful and penalizing. Moreover, the police take advantage of these constant changes in the speed limit to strategically place their radars so as to collect as many fines as possible.
Try traveling from your home to Zurich and count limit changes and radars. Call it what you want, but to say it's prevention offends our intelligence.
Switzerland should at least offer racing circuits where you can vent your frustration as a repressed motorist, taking into account the fact that in this country car owners are among the biggest tax payers but they don't seem to be taken into any consideration.
