In the halls of Casa Pellanda Museum in Biasca the exhibition of photographs by Ennio Ferrari reopens on Wednesday 3 March. Over 200 images shot in analog with Canon and Kodak, using 200 ASA film and printed on plexiglass: 6 in 80 × 100 format, the others 30 × 45 cm.
It is a unique opportunity to get to know this aspect of one of the best-known entrepreneurs in the post-war industrial and economic world of Ticino, founder of Ennio Ferrari and of the other companies in the pool, which has gradually expanded to become one of the most important in Ticino. Alongside a lot of work, entrepreneurship, the companies he founded and directed (and which now continue with his children), friends, the enthusiasm to create work and employment, he has developed a growing interest in photography to reach high levels. quality. This is confirmed by the exhibition that starts again in the rooms of Casa Pellanda in Biasca, accompanied by the catalog from Edizioni Arte e Comunicazione with a critical introduction by Dalmazio Ambrosioni and a summary of the biography of this entrepreneur who, on the eve of his 95 years (was born in Lodrino in March 1926), never ceases to amaze.
When we talk to him about photography, as usual he minimizes. «Taking pictures is easy. A good camera and it's done ». And he explains: «I like nature and its colors, especially in autumn. I particularly like to photograph mountain nature, valleys, wild animals (ibex, chamois, deer, marmots…), woods, lakes and alpine lakes, views and panoramas, flowers and skies, many flowers and many skies ». From the 60s Ennio began to devote some more attention to photography and the camera became a habit. Usually two in the back seat of the car with a small choice of lenses, ready to be used at the right time.
Over the years he has given himself fixed appointments, places and times where he knows that the light is the right one. Maybe Orselina, Brè or other natural balconies from which to take pictures of lakes and hills. The scenarios of the San Gottardo going up the Leventina, the villages, the Alps, the peaks; or the Ritom region, one of the favorites. Intriguing valleys such as Verzasca, where the river seems to play with its reflections. But also Vallemaggia, Onsernone, Centovalli and a few small valleys away. The Blenio Valley up to Lucomagno and beyond, the San Bernardino, in particular its lakes going up towards the Pass. Over the years the desire to photograph has not diminished, far from it. And the adventure continues.
