The stage of the Lugano Arte e Cultura (LAC) is preparing to welcome – on Friday 10 November at 20pm – one of the major artists of the contemporary jazz scene, Paolo Fresu, and his exceptional Devil Quartet.
Paolo Fresu, known internationally for his virtuosity on the trumpet, is accompanied by a group of extraordinary musicians: Bebo Ferra on guitar, Paolino Dalla Porta on double bass and Stefano Bagnoli on drums. This four-piece formation, known as the Devil Quartet, is considered one of the most "electric" groups of Italian jazz in recent years.
The Devil Quartet
The Devil Quartet is the result of a unique musical vision, developed by Paolo Fresu starting from the Angel Quartet, an ensemble famous throughout Europe. This new acoustic formation brings together authentic virtuosos of their instruments, creating a musical experience that goes beyond the sum of the individual parts. The music that emerges from this collaboration is defined by Fresu himself as a "mélangé," a mix of different styles and languages, which translates into an intense, open and innovative sound.

The other weekend events at LAC
This extraordinary show is organized in collaboration with MyNina Spettacoli and, in addition to the Paolo Fresu Devil Quartet concert, the LAC offers other first-class cultural experiences at the weekend.
Saturday November 11 at 20pm, Mariangela Granelli and Fabrizio Montecchi are the protagonists of This is how it all begins, a show that combines actor's theater and shadow theater, taken from the behavior manual written by Jean-Luc Lagarce in 1993.
Finally, on Sunday, November 12th at 4:00 PM, Teatro Pan presents Lavandaie di nuvole (Laundresses of Clouds) , a show for young audiences aged 3 and up. This captivating show is the result of a collaboration between Antonio Catalano, Cinzia Morandi, and Monica Ceccardi, and promises to transform the stage into an enchanted world for the littlest ones.
