The LAC has recently formalized the appointment of Andrea Amarante as the new artistic director of the Music sector. Andrea Amarante, born in Trieste in 1974 and with vast experience in the field of music and entertainment entrepreneurship, will bring his talent and vision to the LAC starting from April 15th. His appointment was the result of a rigorous selection process involving over 70 candidates, highlighting his highly valued profile within the industry.
With a twenty-year career that has seen him collaborate with prestigious institutions such as the Fondazione Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester in Lucerne, Amarante is well positioned to lead the Music sector of the LAC towards new goals. His arrival coincides with the creation of a sector dedicated to music in the four-year period 2024-28, as foreseen by the autonomous body's performance mandate, underlining the commitment to a multidisciplinary and innovative approach.
The president of 'LAC autonomous body, Roberto Badaracco, expressed confidence in Amarante's ability to continue the path of growth and development of the performing arts in Lugano, while the general director of the LAC, Michel Gagnon, enthusiastically welcomed Amarante's experience and musical competence, underlining the importance of its integration into the current organizational structure of the LAC.
Andrea Amarante, in turn, declared that he was enthusiastic about collaborating on the programming of the LAC, highlighting his intention to make his skills available to guarantee the continuity of previous work and develop new forms of collaboration. With a deep respect for the Lugano public and the determination to satisfy the needs of international production, Amarante aims to integrate the requests of the territory with a global and constructive vision.
