On March 7, Lugano Music hosts an extraordinary event at the LAC that mixes musical eras and genres, bringing a multifaceted artist to the Teatrostudio stage: Antonio Ballista (in the photo by © Damiano Rosa). This eclectic pianist, famous for his versatility and his commitment to breaking down barriers between different musical styles, will offer a one-of-a-kind concert entitled “Bach to Beatles”.
Ballista, known for his long collaboration with Bruno Canino in the field of contemporary music, will present a program that combines the harmonies of the Beatles with the contrapuntal complexity of Johann Sebastian Bach. Through Alessandro Lucchetti's arrangements, the public will be able to immerse themselves in the timeless sounds of the Fab Four, revisited and reinvented with mastery.
Among the pieces on the programme, unforgettable hits such as "Eleanor Rigby", "Yesterday", and "Here Comes The Sun" stand out, together with classical compositions transformed into fascinating piano transcriptions, such as Bach's Fantasia and Fugue in G minor revisited by Liszt and the Chaconne transcribed by Busoni.
Ballista's eclecticism manifests itself not only in his ability to interpret heterogeneous repertoire, but also in his ability to transmit his passion for music to all generations. From the masterpieces of Schubert and Beethoven to the works of Stravinsky, Ballista has consistently demonstrated his extraordinary talent and dedication to the dissemination of classical music.
