In the changing universe of contemporary art, street art confirms itself as one of the most powerful languages of our time and it is precisely to this language that “Push the Button” is addressed, the new artistic-cultural contest that focuses on young talents and their ability to imagine change through art.

The first edition of the competition invites emerging urban artists to confront the theme of revolution, intended not as a destructive gesture, but as a creative forge, an engine of innovation, a spark of a possible future. “The revolution – explain the organizers – is not a cry, but an idea. It is the change that begins with a thought, a line, a color”. An invitation to think of art as a visual narration of transformation.

An opportunity both concrete and symbolic

The contest path will culminate in October 25, 2025, when the five finalists will have the opportunity to create their work live at Garage21, in Milan, in front of a jury composed of experts in the sector. Participation is free, and it is possible to apply until 24:00 on 27 July 2025, uploading your work here, in pdf – dimensions 20×15 cm, maximum weight 5 MB. Once selected, they must be ready to reproduce the same work on 200×150 cm panels during the Milan final.

The winner, in addition to visibility, will be awarded the opportunity to leave his or her mark on a wall that is much more important than any canvas: the facade of the Milanese headquarters of the City Angels, in via Giuseppe Taccioli 31. There, in a nerve centre of the city's social commitment, the artist will be called to tell, with his or her colours, the concepts of home, hospitality and solidarity. A permanent work that will transform concrete into a symbol of hope and inclusion.

An artistic ecosystem in turmoil

Alongside the competition, “Push the Button” has given rise to a series of collateral events that contribute to fueling the creative ferment of the project. Among these, “THE HANGAR” stands out, held on March 22nd at Garage21. An immersive event between music and urban art, born from the collaboration between Led Velvet and UMA.mi.

The evening had as its protagonist Copper13, alias Ginevra Giovannoni, a Tuscan artist born in 1989 known for her dreamlike and surreal style. Live, in front of the audience, she created a monumental work of 3×2 meters, accompanied by the sound selections of Led Velvet. Between visual suggestions and electronic beats, “THE HANGAR” represented a preview of the atmosphere that will be felt during the final of the contest.

It is no coincidence that this creative melting pot was supported by two very different but complementary entities. Led Velvet, specialized in multisensory events in historic and scenic locations, and UMA.me, an emerging brand in the world of designer e-cigs, united by a visionary aesthetic and a shared language: that of innovation.

A call to imagine change

In a historical moment in which urban art is taking on an increasingly incisive role in the social and cultural debate, “Push the Button” is configured not only as a competition, but as a collective experiment. An invitation to a new generation of artists to question the patterns, explore new visual horizons and give body, on the wall, to a revolution made of lines, symbols and pigments.

Only one application per artist is allowed and it is necessary to be of legal age. The works will be evaluated anonymously to guarantee the impartiality of the selection, which will be made according to criteria of beauty, originality, impact and coherence with the theme.
