Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May, from 11:00 to 18:00, the twentieth edition of Open Gallery Lugano will be staged.
Born in 2011, as an integral part of the project Urban Art Lugano, Open Gallery was immediately conceived with a double objective: to favor the networking of the cultural and artistic realities present in the city and to let the public discover spaces, cultural initiatives and lesser-known artists. For the occasion, "museums, foundations, art galleries, independent spaces and many other places where art is the protagonist, open their doors to the public free of charge, organizing special enhancement activities for the occasion".
Over the years, many exhibitions related to particular events have been proposed that favor the public and its need to enjoy culture: vernissages with the exhibiting artists, guided tours, readings, musical performances, cultural aperitifs….
This twentieth edition represents an important anniversary and, to celebrate the success of the initiative, the organizers have conceived an expanded and even more open version , with art galleries, museums, artist studios and events aimed at promoting the art of the Lugano area to the widest public, during a weekend entirely dedicated to it.
