The recent conclusion of miart 2025, the international fair of modern and contemporary art, represents a turning point in the global art scene, blending tradition and innovation in an unprecedented way. Miart has transformed the concept of the fair into a true festival of the arts, where “friendship” – understood as creative synergy and mutual support – has served as a common thread, drawing inspiration from the legacy of Robert Rauschenberg, celebrated on the occasion of the centenary of his birth.

The exhibition itinerary – organized by Fiera Milano and with the artistic direction of Nicola Ricciardi, supported by a team of curators and professionals of excellence – saw the participation of 179 galleries from 31 nations, uniting in an intercultural dialogue over 1.200 works ranging from the masterpieces of the early twentieth century to the most daring and contemporary languages. The event was structured in three sections – Established, Emergent and Portal – to offer a complete overview of the various artistic trends in progress, highlighting both the consolidated protagonists and the new talents of the sector.

The vibrant and dynamic climate of myart 2025 attracted not only collectors and art advisors, but also VIPs, international curators and a large and passionate public, creating a unique opportunity for meeting and discussion. Among the initiatives that enriched the experience of the fair, the “talks among friends” and the Literary Café in collaboration with Herno stand out, events that encouraged a direct dialogue between artists, critics and spectators, helping to spread a participatory and inclusive art culture.

In terms of awards, the edition crowned the value of the works exhibited with eight prizes and commissions, the result of the work of prestigious international juries. The Acquisition Fund of Fondazione Fiera Milano, for example, selected works by emerging and established artists, strengthening the link between cultural institutions and individual creativity. In this scenario, the acquisitions not only enrich the artistic heritage preserved in the Palazzina degli Orafi headquarters, but also mark a concrete commitment to supporting the future of visual culture.

The innovative format of the event has gone beyond the boundaries of the traditional trade fair exhibition, transforming miart into a cultural laboratory that goes beyond mere commercial exchange. The site-specific proposals, solo shows and group shows have demonstrated how art can act as a bridge between past and present, continually renewing its language to dialogue with contemporary challenges. This approach, oriented towards the creation of a network of historical and innovative relationships, has allowed miart to establish itself not only in Italy, but also on the international scene.

The 2025 edition was a triumph of creativity and commitment, laying the foundations for a promising future. The thirtieth edition has already been announced, which will be held from 17 to 19 April 2026 and which guarantees to continue this tradition of excellence and openness.
