You were a sports champion capable of successfully transitioning from the world of hockey to activities in various other fields. How did this transition happen and what are the future development prospects?
“Sport has taught me a lot, through great sacrifices, from discipline to method for achieving a personal goal. Ice hockey in the eyes of the spectator is a particularly rude and violent activity, but if a person is prone to sensitivity I can assure you that this sport develops it by allowing you to explore other disciplines in a different way. The transition from sport to my other activities was favored by the qualities I acquired in hockey. The development prospects are certainly linked to the search for new challenges, both professional and personal ».
What is your idea of the activity of medical manual therapist and how did you prepare and approach the practice of this profession?
«After six concussions I had to definitively interrupt my professional career by bringing my determination to the study of the human body, manual therapy and movement. I felt the love of therapy from the very first times that the team physiotherapist treated me. I immediately started traveling during the summer breaks of the championship to attend courses abroad and I have often been lucky enough to find special teachers to learn the natural art of using the hands. The techniques range from manual massages up to functional osteopathy techniques, while for the active part I use the pilates and antara techniques (postural gymnastics) ».
The Deseo project has been defined as “a place of the soul”. How was the idea born and what are its strengths?
"The Deseo studio was love at first sight, a 350 sqm cellar in the city center, I felt it as a protective armor for my soul, a magical place where I could welcome people and help them get in touch with themselves, feeling protected by all natural stone walls. Deseo has existed for almost 20 years but I have never liked to advertise it as a place where if a person has to arrive… he arrives. Our strengths are the seriousness and the diversified experience of each of the pilates instructors and each therapist ».
Alongside her work, she finds space to explore interesting artistic projects. How was this passion born?
"The whole life of each of us is a work of art, mine I marked the sport, being however particularly gifted for drawing and photography I pursued these disciplines only in an amateur way, attending photography courses , a subject that interested me a lot. I am especially fond of photographing the world from somewhat unusual perspectives such as shots from the ground upwards. Then one day I discovered the aerial works of Yann Arthus-Bertrand and I also became passionate about aerial photography taken from the sky, visions contrary to my initial perspectives caught lying on the ground. So 5 years ago I bought the first drone and started exploring the earth from the sky. Showing people known places but taken from unusual points of view can make us open our minds and experience new emotions ».
In the photographic field, you have developed an original image treatment process. What is it and how has it been developing?
«Yes, I recently had the opportunity to exhibit a selection of photographic works, with the overall title: AEREA. It was created to satisfy the need for emotion of people, now dependent on social networks and hypnotized by news with an often monothematic focus. The aerial shots allow you to travel with the mind, with emotions and to explore the splendid and symbolic nature that surrounds us, returning to expand the visual and emotional landscape. I therefore decided to create completely unusual images capable of attracting people's attention through their magical beauty. Observing them initially one feels a feeling of bewilderment. In fact, the images look like paintings but they are photographs with specular motifs that the viewer can interpret depending on his emotional state. The aerial photographs are the result of an initial research work on satellite photos, which thanks to a spirit of observation and imagination are immediately identified and interpreted but sometimes they are also spontaneous and intuitive ».
Faced with such a great variety of passions and interests, what do you see in Davide Jelmini's future?
«Surely first of all the love towards my two daughters. My life, a continuous evolution and transformation, therefore I will continue to grow in the context of my artistic and professional projects, where on a personal level the search for a psycho-physical balance is the protagonist. My life is a continuous evolution and transformation, therefore I will continue to learn and grow in the field of artistic and professional projects. At the moment I am preparing a private exhibition in Ibiza for May, and later probably in Zurich, certainly by the end of the year also in Lugano ».
