The second edition of the Cantonal Startup Day was followed by over 400 people in attendance – at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano – and around a hundred via metaverse and streaming.

The event was introduced by State Councilor Christian Vitta, by the President of the Fondazione Agire Luca Bolzani and the Director of the Economic Development Division of the City of Lugano Pietro Poretti.

The cantonal start-up day is a precious opportunity for the various players in the system to meet in support of innovation and for two years now, it has made it possible to further strengthen the connection and networking between potential investors and the world of startups, an area that the Canton of Ticino looks at with particular interest and in respect of which it has already drawn up a specific support strategy.

The program of the second Cantonal Startup Day

The day's program – which was set up by important players in the system such as USI Startup Centre, Impact Hub Ticino and TiVentures – contemplated various in-depth moments, mainly dedicated to the contractual aspects of investing in scientifically advanced companies and to supporting research funding. The startups present at the event were also able to present themselves to the public through two rounds of pitches and interact with the participants at their stands.

“The second Cantonal Startup Day was – the organizers say – an opportunity to inject new life into the system, so as to bring out and further enhance this type of young and dynamic entrepreneurship, which is important for promoting the economic growth of the Canton of Ticino, stimulating innovation and generating significant repercussions also in terms of employment”.
